Gervonta Davis' Baby Mama Says Her 911 Call Was 'Unnecessary'
Taking to Instagram, Posso penned an emotional piece that appeared to clear Davis of previous battery claims that led to his arrest on Tuesday, December 27.
She explicitly stated that, contrary to reports, the boxer did not inflict bodily harm on her or their daughter.
"These past few days have been hurtful and extremely exhausting for all parties involved," Posso wrote on her Instagram story, per Boxing Scene. "I pride myself on being extremely private; this situation was the last thing I wanted to be made public."
Her post confirmed that she indeed had an altercation with Davis, but it was not enough reason to involve the law authorities.
She added, "The state of our relationship has been in a fragile space and Gervonta, and I were both at fault for the argument. While the emotions were running high, I made an unnecessary call to law enforcement in an intense moment while I was frantic."
Gervonta Davis Was Released On Bail
Posso's recant comes after Davis was arrested in Parkland, Florida, and booked on "battery-causing bodily harm" charges.
As reported by The Blast, He was taken into custody after 911 calls placed by Posso from his residence requested for the presence of the authorities as her life was allegedly in danger.
Per the publication, the police report claimed that Davis hit Posso "on the right side of her head with a closed hand type slap," leading to a visible wound on the "upper lip on the right side of her mouth."
Broward County court records also revealed that Posso secured legal representation for herself after Davis was charged. The boxer was first held in custody in Fort Lauderdale and was released after posting a $1,000 bond.

Upon his release, Davis immediately fought back against claims that he assaulted the mother of his daughter.
"Do not let these people misguide you all on this bullsh!t," Davis said in a since-deleted Instagram post on Wednesday, per Boxing Scene.
In the post, he shared a picture of himself watching the animated movie "Frozen" with his daughter shortly before police responded to 911 calls.
He added, "This was just yesterday [Tuesday], moments before me and my child mother had argument! Watching Frozen with my oldest daughter. I never put my hands on my child mother nor my f***ng daughter. Are you f***ing crazy!! Im (sic) not a monster. I been quiet for too long.
The boxer further insinuated that some people who wished him ill tried to influence his child's mother to sue him just like they did with another woman he shares a kid with.
Gervonta Davis Previously Faced Battery Charges
Despite his denial that he did not assault Posso or his daughter, this is not the first time the WBA lightweight champion has found himself in similar circumstances.
The well-known boxer found himself on the wrong side of the law in 2020 after a video showed him grabbing his ex-girlfriend by the throat forcefully. The event happened as the ex-couple was watching a basketball game for a charity that the University of Miami had organized.
A few days after the video went viral on Twitter, Davis turned himself in to the police. He was then charged with simple assault and domestic abuse. Although Davis denied hitting his girlfriend, the police report at the time said that she had injuries to her lips and jaw.
In the interim, the 28-year-old is slated to face Luis Garcia on January 7. It's not yet known how his arrest would impact the impending battle, which was scheduled to take place in Washington.
