The Hallmark Channel has been in the news a number of times in 2022.
Candace Cameron Bure, "Fuller House" actress and former Hallmark Channel regular, departed the network after being a fixture since 2008.
The Blast has covered Bure's relationship with the Hallmark Channel a great deal; Bure would depart the network in search of a different network that would allow her the freedom to participate in more 'faith-based' programming.
Cameron Bure would join the crew over at The Great American Family network in April. GAF CEO, Bill Abbott, previously served as the CEO of Crown Media, the Hallmark Channel's parent company. Abbot would retire from the position two years ago following "a same-sex advertising issue" with Hallmark.
Hallmark and The Great American Family Network would make headlines in November after Cameron Bure would sit down for an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
In the interview, Cameron Bure spoke about her relationship with the new network, remarking, "I think that the Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core [of their programming.] (per The Blast)
Entertainer JoJo Siwa would publicly call out the "Full House" actress for her comments on social media following the interview.
Cameron Bure has received a great deal of criticism over her statements, but one celebrity would remain neutral about her comment.
"The Wonder Years" actress Danica McKellar would disagree with her co-star Neal Bledsoe in his criticism of Cameron Bure's statement.
McKellar, who played Winnie Cooper on the 1990's series about 1960's nostalgia, has recently embraced Christianity, as she would discuss on social media, discussed her disagreement with Bledsoe's comments.
"He is such a great actor and I have enjoyed working with him so much. He and I both share our love and support for the LGBT community for sure... [but] I don't agree with his interpretation of her comments. I just don't see them the same way," McKellar told Fox News Digital. (per The Blast)
Chabert, for her part, remains firm in her dedication to the network.
In reference to Cameron Bure's comments, Chabert would say, "Any shift I've felt has been embracing our creative ideas. And it is my responsibility to the audience who continue to tune into my movies that I give my best I have to offer. That's always my mission. I'll never abandon what Hallmark means for me, which is that everything is centered around the heart. I don't think there are any plans for that to change anytime soon." (via Variety)
