Bryan Christopher Kohberger has been arrested in association with the murders of four University of Idaho students brutal murders.

The 28-year-old was arrested in Pennsylvania just a few hours ago in connection to the murders of Ethan Chapin, 20, Xana Kernodle, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, in Moscow, Idaho.

Kohberger is apparently a Ph.D. student at Washington State University in Pullman, Wash., in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology. His profile was on the university’s website graduate student page which has now disappeared.

The university is a short 8 miles away from the off-campus house at 1122 King Road. A news conference is set for 1 p.m. today by Moscow authorities to share more details regarding the case and the arrest.

What Happened That Night

On Nov. 13 a phone call was made to 911 about an “unconscious person” at the home. When authorities arrived, they found the body of the four students.  Chapin, Kernodle, Mogen, and Goncalves's bodies were located on the second and third floors of the off-campus home.

They were all students at the University of Idaho and all residents of the home except for Chapin, who did not live at the home, but was sleeping over with his girlfriend Kernodle.

Two other roommates were home at the time of the attack. Dylan Mortensen and Bethany Funke were found unharmed and had slept through the vicious attack on their friends. Mortensen and Funke were ruled out as suspects.

The coroner's report confirmed that all four of the students were stabbed to death and it was officially ruled a homicide on Nov.17. The murder weapon has not been found but it is suspected be a fixed-blade knife.

White Hyundai Was A Key Clue

The police pleaded with the public to come forward if they know anything. They shared that a white Hyundai Elantra was seen near the scene on the night of the murder. It was a long shot but the clue ended up being the thing that confirmed Kohberger was there.

A Hyundai Elantra was towed away from the home where Kohberger was found in Monroe County, Pa. authorities plan on revealing more details soon. As for the families of the victims, they have been keeping optimistic this entire time and shared the faith they had in the police.

The victims were well on their way to graduating and having great futures. Chapin was majoring in recreation, sport, and tourism management. Kernodle was majoring in marketing. Mogen was majoring in marketing, and Goncalves was majoring in general studies.

All were active in the campus community and in sororities and fraternities. A celebration of life is planned for two of the four victims Mogen and Goncalves.
