Oops, Pokimane’s done it again. She has angered the internet, though this time it’s not completely her fault. Leafy (LeafyIsHere) dropped the bombshell, citing a secret boyfriend that the beloved Twitch streamer has stayed 100% mum about. Whether that’s true or not, she did open up with a heartfelt apology before jetting off to her vacation destination for the foreseeable future.
With her apology video on the airwaves, many have come up with a big, “Get real,” while others sent their messages of support. She’s not here to see it all play out though, having put her channels on pause for the time being. Will she come back and face the music or let her streaming career fizzle out for good?
Pokimane’s Sorry About the Whole Boyfriend Thing
First things first, Pokimane is real sorry that she didn’t let anyone know about her supposed boyfriend. She asserts that she did not lie, however, as the topic simply didn’t come up, and for good reason.
You see, Pokimane already told her fans that, “I personally made the decision, seven years ago, when I got into streaming that I don’t want my personal life to be part of my content.”
Then, she goes on to say, “Even when I’m single, imagine how many people would care? Then, if I got into a relationship, even more people would be invested in what is going on in my relationship. If I had a relationship, I’d want it to just be between me and that person, and not a million people giving their opinion.”
Oh, But Wait! There’s More (Much More, In Fact)
During the apology, Pokimane spins her wheels on figuring out why the rumors even started at all. She goes back to all the beef between her and Keemstar and ItsAGundam, apologizing for the issues that came up. But bigger than all that, she goes back to a darker time when she said the n-word on her streams and apologized for her idiocy. Since she cannot change the past despite sorely wishing she could, all she can do is apologize and hope for the best.
Despite the Apology, Everyone is Still Big Mad
Unfortunately, her apology was not exactly well received, especially not by ItsAGundam. His response to her saying sorry was a nearly 13-minute video in which he dubbed her, “The Carole Baskin of Twitch.” Big oof.
Not surprisingly, Keemstar hit up his Twitter feed and asked his followers, “Thoughts on Pokimane apology?” In which they overwhelmingly responded, “2/10,” but a few did defend her in the replies.
Like Joshua Randall (@joshrandall8478) who tweets, “She honestly did put a lot of effort into explaining herself and showing that she supports transformative content, even if it’s against her.” But it was RobzeBeast (@robertbyrne_02) who said it best with, “I thought it was pretty genuine tbh.”
She Still Has Some Supporters, However
With the release of Pokimane’s apology, the streaming community has blown up with many sharing their hot takes with the world. Twitch streamer, xQc, for example, created a reaction video in which he rolls his eyes at all the edits, but supports her right to privacy in the end. Overall, it seems that many streamers agree that keeping their relationships private is key when so much of their life has gone public.
It Doesn’t Matter Anyway Because She’s Outie
Shortly after dropping her apology video, Pokimane went back to enjoying her time off, far, far away from all the drama. She urged her loyal followers to stay away from it all as well and seek out a new hobby or just get outside for a while. Although it’s unclear if she will be back anytime soon, her channels patiently await her return, as do her loyal fans.
Although Pokimane is real sorry, that’s just not enough for some people. Many others, however, eagerly await her return, hoping she will come back soon to make more videos.
Pokimane's apology video hit the airwaves, leaving the streaming community reeling. Here's how it went down.

Is Pokimane actually sorry? She definitely says so. The streaming community, however, has other ideas on the subject. Check it out.
