Britney Spears gave Instagram a little heads-up last night – yes, the 38-year-old was “very sweaty” while dropping another of her iconic home dancing videos. The “Womanizer” singer, followed by 26.1 million, uploaded both her moves and her mindset on Monday night, with the hip-swiveling, twirl-centric, and free-spirited barefoot dance video clocking over 800,000 views in under eight hours.
Britney, fresh from seeing her 2008-commenced conservatorship extended until February 2021, made no mention of her legal issues. Her fans did, though. Check it out below.
Scroll for the video. It came with the usual setup on Britney’s Instagram – that’s one marbled floor, one pair of tiny shorts, a sports bra, and the “Toxic” singer working her smokeshow body to music – this year, it’s already included Billie Eilish and Rihanna.
Britney offered 1 minute and 28 seconds of moves, with a lengthy caption that addressed her appetite, her love of workouts, her “hot mess” hair, plus the sheer boredom of being stuck home in a pandemic.
Britney’s caption opened with a full admission: “I’m very sweaty here and yes I’m working on my body!!!!”
Spears continued saying it’s tough having nowhere to go and everything being shut:
“But I swear to God food has never tasted so good ??????!!!! I’ve heard people say …. “love people who love food” …. well damn I must be really loved ???!!!! “
Britney was also perfectly happy to admit she was kind of rambling – her “love” of food then transitioned into workout talk, plus addressing that very messy hair. More after the video, including the worried reactions.
Britney, also revealing she used to feel “ice cold” after working out, then wrote:
“PS I KNOW, I KNOW my hair is a hot mess … but considering how long it can take to get your hair done for a show ….. it’s kinda nice to switch it up a bit and throw in some Rock N Roll vibes ????.”
The comments section isn’t talking about the sweat. Or the hair. Or the food. #FreeBritney now dominates the singer’s comments, with the most-liked replies questioning Spears’ well-being and safety as 68-year-old father Jamie Spears continues to control his daughter’s finances and many other aspects of her life.
Britney is fresh from a court decision that will see her dad continue his grip. Britney had personally requested her caregiver Jodi Montgomery to be her conservator – the request was seemingly ignored, with the 12+ years of conservatorship now extended. Jamie Spears this month also called the #FreeBritney movement a “joke” and a “conspiracy theory.”
Fan replies said it all: “Hi Britney’s team,” one fan wrote, with another saying: “This keeps getting weirder and weirder.”
“GIVE HER THE PHONE BACK,” another said.
Britney’s followers are largely convinced that she isn’t the one uploading her content, even though the singer has both called herself “authentic” and shared time-stamped photos to prove her images aren’t old.
