'Basketball Wives' Star Mehgan James Says Lyft Driver Assaulted Her, Left Her On Freeway

Former “Basketball Wives” star Mehgan James is accusing a Lyft driver of forcibly grabbing her and throwing her on the side of a Los Angeles freeway.
The reality star posted a lengthy video on her Instagram explaining the situation. She said, “Just got attacked by a @lyft driver.”
In the video, Mehgan said she returned to Los Angeles after being on a trip. She says a Lyft driver came to pick her up. Once he arrived the driver gave her hand sanitizer and told her his father recently passed away from Covid. He apologized for being strict but she told him it was fine.
Mehgan said all the windows were down on the freeway while she was wearing a hoodie. She said it was hot in the car and she decided to roll her window up. The driver said “no” and rolled up her window back down.
Minutes later, she says she politely rolled up her personal window. She said the driver said “oh, you think I’m playing” and decided to swerve his car across the freeway to the other side. She says he took her bags from the trunk and threw them on the side of the road.
She told the driver to call the police. Instead, she claims he forcibly grabbed her and dragged her out of the car. The reality star said he left her on the side of the 405 freeway.
Mehgan tried to call her friend but she didn’t pick up. She said she had to wave her hands in an attempt to get someone to pick her up. The “Basketball Wives” star says a family in a van were nice enough to pick her up.

Luckily @courtneymanatee ‘s family whom where strangers Until now picked me up on the 405 and brought me home safely ! Mind you @lapdhq has refused to come to my house for me to file a police report . They said since it’s not an emergency that I should come file the report during business hours . Ima upload sergios license plates and picture on the next slide and I Really don’t feel safe Bc he now has my address ! But anyway #protectblackwomen . And if I haven’t heard from you don’t reach out to me I’m good.”
Lyft has yet to respond.
