Britney Spears is being offered support by the American Civil Liberties Union to get out of her conservatorship.
The non-profit organization tweet out a message to Britney. The ACLU reposted an article writing, “People with disabilities have a right to lead self-directed lives and retain their civil rights. If Britney Spears wants to regain her civil liberties and get out of her conservatorship, we are here to help her.”
As The Blast first reported, Britney recently informed the court she strongly opposed her father Jamie Spears being in charge of her conservatorship.

Britney’s court-appointed lawyer, Samuel Ingham, submitted a report to the court before the recent hearing. In the filing, he told the court the conservatorship has been in place since 2008.
He broke down the conservatorship in three stages. He said the first phase was her conservators rescuing her from a “collapse, exploitation by predatory individuals and financial ruin.”
The second phase included Britney’s performing years, “with the aid of a personal manager, business manager and many other individuals, Britney was able to regain her position as a world class entertainer with multiple tours, a television series and a residency in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas residence ended on December 31, 2017 and her last live performance occurred on October 21, 2018.

He said the third phase is where they are at currently. The lawyer explains Britney has no desire to perform at the moment. Sam wrote, “Britney is strongly opposed to having James return as conservator of her person.” He said she wishes for the temporary conservator Jodi Montgomery to become the permanent
Britney voicing her opinion on her father comes amid the #FreeBritney movement calling for the singer to be let out of her 12-year conservatorship.
Many believe her civil liberties are being violated by the court. Her fans fear the people around her are profiting off Britney while she has no rights to live a free life.
Jamie Spears recently released a fiery statement denouncing the #FreeBritney movement. He claimed every nickel he spent was reported to the court.
