Coolio, the iconic rapper who rose to fame thanks to his hit song, “Gangsta’s Paradise,” sadly passed away earlier this year without a will in place to dictate how he wanted his possible fortunes divvied up among his large family.

He was just 59 years of age.

Coolio Estate Could Be Worth Millions

According to the documents obtained by The Blast, Coolio died intestate, meaning he had no will. A probate has been filed by his former manager in order to begin the process of appraising the late rapper's estate. Coolio's 7 adult children are also listed as the next of kin and probable beneficiaries.

According to the petition, the value of the Estate is believed to be over $300,000, which seems to include "personal property and demand deposit accounts, financial accounts, insurance policies and royalties." However, the exact value is yet to be determined.

Coolio Passes Away At Age 59

Coolio, whose legal name was Artis Leon Ivey Jr., suddenly passed away in September of this year while at the Los Angeles home of his friend and longtime manager Jarez Posey.

Emergency responders received a call at approximately 4 p.m. PST for a medical emergency, CNN reported at the time. When they arrived at the scene, they found Coolio unresponsive on the bathroom floor and performed “resuscitation efforts for approximately 45 minutes,” Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed.

Scott said the patient, Coolio, “was determined dead just before 5:00 p.m." and he appeared to have suffered cardiac arrest.

The 59-year-old rapper was cremated in a private ceremony with no funeral service.

Tributes Come Pouring In For Coolio

Shortly after the news broke about the passing of Coolio, many fans, friends, and musicians released statements to pay tribute to the "Gangsta's Paradise" rapper.

Sheila Finegan, Coolio’s talent manager, released a statement on Coolio's sudden death and the legacy the rapper has left.

“We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend and client, Coolio, who passed away this afternoon,” she told CNN. “He touched the world with the gift of his talent and will be missed profoundly. Thank you to everyone worldwide who has listened to his music and to everyone who has been reaching out regarding his passing. Please have Coolio’s loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.”

A rep for the "Gangsta's Paradise" rapper also spoke to US Magazine, saying, “We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend and client, Coolio, who passed away this afternoon. He touched the world with the gift of his talent and will be missed profoundly. Thank you to everyone worldwide who has listened to his music and to everyone who has been reaching out regarding his passing. Please have Coolio’s loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.”

Rapper Ice Cube ReTweeted the news of Coolio's passing at the time, adding, “This is sad news. I witness first hand this man’s grind to the top of the industry. Rest In Peace.”

“Bad Boys” actor Martin Lawrence also took to social media, Tweeting, “My deepest condolences and prayers go out to the family of @Coolio ?? #rip.”

And rapper and friend, Vanilla Ice, who toured with Coolio last year, Tweeted, “I’m freaking out I just heard my good friend Coolio passed away.”
