Rapper MC Lyte has filed for divorce from her husband after only three years of marriage.

According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, the legendary rapper -- real name Lana Michelle Moorer -- filed for dissolution of marriage from her husband John Wyche, on August 12.

The couple has no children, and it's unclear if they signed a prenuptial agreement before tying the knot in 2017.

As you know, MC Lyte's 1993 single, "Ruffneck" made her the first female solo rapper to be nominated for a Grammy Award.

According to reports, Lyte met her husband on Match.com and he didn't even know he was dating a celebrity until a friend suggested her Google her name.

The legendary rapper reportedly spent months talking to John Wyche, who is a Marine and entrepreneur, then decided to meet up with him during a weekend for her "Hip Hop Sisters" foundation called W.E.A.L.T.H. Experience.

Apparently, John was also looking for love online and a week before MC Lyte arrived in Miami for the event. "At that moment I asked the Lord for my wife for the first time. The following week I met Lana," he told Essence magazine.

The couple tied the knot in front of 100 of their closet friends in August of 2017, at the Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort in Montego Bay, Jamacia.

“It’s incredible so many people came out to support our union. We are starting out with a strong foundation,” Wyche told the outlet. Adding, “A few months into getting to know Lana I knew I wanted this woman as my wife.”

MC Lyte had similar things to say about her new man, “One day when we're talking and I looked into his eyes. It was so much honesty and truth in his eyes,” she said.

She continued, “My biggest thing with dating was to be vulnerable. And with him, I could totally let go and be myself.”

The rapper's husband has yet to respond to the divorce filing, the case is ongoing.
