Heather Rae Young Spent Christmas Dealing With 'Unbearable' Sciatic Pain

The holiday season is still in full swing with immeasurable cheer, but Heather Rae Young is not having the best time, and she is letting fans know why.

It is common knowledge that Heather has been having pregnancy complications, especially with her sciatic nerve, for some time, and it seems to have worsened this Christmas. Nevertheless, the resilient celeb remains in high spirits for the season as she shares how severe her sciatic pain has become.

While wishing her millions of fans "Happy holidays," Heather detailed how her day went as she spent it with her husband, Tarek El Moussa, and his kids, Taylor and Brayden. She said, "We just finished opening presents with the kids. I cleaned up because my OCD kicks in with all the wrapping paper." 

Although the realtor sounded cheerful as she spoke, she did not look so good, as seen in the video she uploaded on her Instagram Story. She looked pale and was dressed in an oversized gray hoodie, while her hair, known for always shimmering, was dull.

Heather then opened up about her pregnancy difficulties: "My sciatica is on another level; I'm in so much pain, so I came up to rest, lay on my heating pad." "It's unbearable," she continued, "And at this point, I'm peeing like five to six times a night. So I'm like rolling myself out of bed, screaming in pain."

Even with the discomfort, the TV star wished everyone well and hoped they were "having a great Christmas." She also exclaimed, "Exciting things to come in 2023. I cannot believe it. Anyways, have a good day, everyone." 

In another Insta Story post, she dropped more news about how her unborn child was faring being his first Christmas in her womb. She wrote, "Baby boys [sic] first Christmas @therealtarekelmoussa – He's already a very active boy – Non stop moving around."

The note was penned across an intimate picture of her revealing her baby bump by raising her hoodie. Her hand and her husband's hand could also be seen caressing it.

Despite the sad news of Heather's sciatica, she ensured to celebrate the day with an adorable joint post with her loving partner on her Instagram feed. The kids were also included in the update.

The images featured the El Moussas and their pup posing in front of a white Christmas tree in their living room. They all looked comfy in matching red and white pajamas signifying the festive period.

Taking to the caption, the soon-to-be mama wished her fans a Merry Christmas and expressed how lucky she felt to spend the season with her family and "with a baby boy on the way."

She felt there was nothing better than the time of the year when "the town gets quiet, and everyone just slows down for a second to spend the day with family." And in conclusion, she hoped everyone had "a great Christmas."

Heather's sciatic pain seems to have returned a while before Christmas, as The Blast reported that she revealed so in a video update. At the time, she mentioned that her child was doing great, but she was not "doing very good," given that the sciatic pain was "worse than before."

This made her doctor place her on bed rest which was a challenge for her, but she knew the important thing was to prioritize feeling better and caring for her son.

Christmas will always be a favorite of Heather's as she relishes the tradition with her family. This year, she prepared ahead with throwback pictures from the El Moussas' last celebration.

The Blast noted that she took to her Instagram to let fans in on the joyous moments, and in the images, the family donned matching outfits, as expected, given the holiday.

One of the snaps showed them in black and white plaid pajamas with red cuffs and necklines, while in another, the media personality and her stepdaughter Taylor wore plain red onesies.

The same picture featured Tarek and his son Brayden rocking red and black outfits while the entire beaming family sat outside, close to each other on the pavement. In the caption, Heather recalled the "favorite tradition" of the pajamas-themed celebration while calling it "extra special" and "the best Christmas jammie year yet!!"
