Tory Lanez is guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion back in 2020, the decision has been made by a jury today.
Tory Lanez Guilty
L.A. jurors have decided that the rapper is guilty of the three charges laid against him after shooting Meg in the foot. The charges are felony negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm.
Tory and his family were clearly not expecting the verdict to go that way, TMZ reported that after he was found guilty “several members of Tory's family shouted -- calling the jurors evil.” It was only a few hours before that Tory was headed into the courthouse holding his son telling cameras that he feels optimistic about the day and boy was he wrong.
Tory Lanez Could Be Deported
Now that the Canadian-born rapper can face more than 22 years in prison, there is also discussion that when his time is served he will be deported back to Canada (there are worse places). Tory’s sentencing will be determined at a later time.
TMZ revealed sources have shared that Tory’s lawyers have already been in talks with immigration officials and were informed that there is a strong chance that he will be booted from the United States.
On the other hand, Meg was all smiles in a vibrant purple suit and a sexy bob haircut as she entered and exited the courtroom.
Crazy Two-Week Trial
If you have been following along with the trial, you know that it has been a tad bit crazy. We have disappearing witnesses and witnesses who showed up only to plead the fifth. There were talks of bringing rap lyrics into evidence.
Meg was assaulted all over when she took the stand, Tory thought it was a good idea to bring what is essentially a toddler to court to sit in on a violent discussion. Truly, the drama surrounding the trial was endless and we can only imagine the conversation will continue on social media because both parties involved have a seriously strong fanbase.
Twitter Is On Fire
The discussion on Twitter is crazy, people are throwing around opinions that are likely to offend one person or another.
“Tory Lanez has no cultural significance outside of shooting Megan Thee Stallion. The minute ppl heard Megan was a victim of gender-based violence at the hands of Tory ppl decided to rally around him. Why? Because they are committed to defending & enabling violence against women,” is one follower's opinion.
“Tory Lanez released an entire album mocking Megan Thee Stallion for “lying” about being shot but can’t take the stand because he might incriminate himself even though he swears he is innocent,” noticed another fan who went on to say he was wrong from the beginning.
“Damn Tory Lanez is guilty???” writes one shocked follower of the drama.
“I’ve been following the whole Tory Lanez case… Somethings not adding up… I got a weird feeling about this whole case and trial and verdict… The testimonies don’t align at all… I’m tellin you something is up with this,” insists another follower.
Regardless of where you stand, the verdict has been handed down and now we are on the edges of our seats to see if he gets deported.
