Kandi Burruss, most well known for her time on “Real Housewives Of Atlanta” has recently come under fire for one of her latest posts which featured a political message supporting Joe Biden’s vice-presidential pick, Kamala Harris.
The 44-year-old black reality TV star usually sticks to posting modeling photos or promotions for the “RHOA” series, but this time round Kandi posted an extremely controversial post that has since created a flood of controversy on her social media profile. The picture shows Kandi posing in what appears to be a political filter portrait with the title “It is time”.
One of the primary commentators who started the stir on Kandi’s Instagram had the following to say about her post.
“Kamala Harris wants to give free healthcare & citizenship to 11-20 Million ILLEGALS/she supports lawlessness & we’re supposed to vote for her just cause she’s blackish? It’s no wonder we keep getting left behind!! She’s a typical politician that’ll say anything for a vote. That’s how America got where we are today. Sorry, the black card played out..”
Although Kandi didn’t personally reply, a few people began arguing about the comment.
Kandi has also had a rather dramatic history with the 4 member band “Xscape”. Despite a reunion that happened in 2017, she said she wanted nothing to do with the TV miniseries based on the band or the music that was being produced explaining that she “…didn’t want to tarnish their legacy.”
This was met with severe criticism from fans of the band and from her fellow band members, though they eventually reunited after band member Tamika Scott apologized for allegedly sleeping with the band’s label head Jermaine Dupri and his father, Michael Mauldin.
When Kandi had announced that Xscape was working on new music back in 2017, she never told the rest of the bandmates until the news had made headlines.
When fellow Xscape band member Tiny Harris found out that Kandi had originally wanted to produce more music with the band, she revealed how it was a surprise for everyone since Kandi previously seemed to be totally against making more music.
Tiny explained that she was happy to see this change of heart, and shared that she would do her best to see another album released.
“We’ve been trying to make another Xscape album since 2017, and Kandi’s been holding out on us. So if she really has changed her mind, that’ll be good for business. And it’ll give the fans something they’ve been asking for, for a long time. So I wanna do whatever I can to see this really happen.”
But as mentioned before Kandi decided she didn’t like the new direction for the band, and so she decided to not join the band during the tour, leaving just the three others to produce the music.
