In case you aren’t familiar with the term “nepo-baby,” The Blast will fill you in.

“Nepo” is short for nepotism which is defined as, “the practice among thos with power or influence of favoring relatives, friends, or associates especially by giving them jobs.”

So a “nepo-baby” is basically a child born into wealth, fame, fortune or all of the above. Some high-profile “nepo-babies” include Zöe Kravitz, Dakota Johnson, the Kardashians, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, John David Washington, Ben Platt, and the list goes on.

Hewson is an actress and is definitely a “nepo-baby” given her father is the front man of U2.

While she doesn’t deny that she’s a “nepo-baby,” she does take issue with people NOT owning up to being one and being hypocritical.

She recently called the CEO of NYMag, Pamela Wasserstein, for also being a “nepo-baby.”

Just a little reminder, it was NYMag who published the big exposé on “nepo-babies.”

Taking to Twitter, Hewson wrote, “In a beautiful turn of events, I have just been informed that Pamela Wasserstein, the CEO of @NYMag, is a nepo baby herself. Her dad bought the magazine in 2004.”

Hewson shot back, “I assure you Amanda I have spoken about this a million times. It’s basically all I’m asked about. And I very, very much appreciate how lucky I am in life. I’m just having a laugh here! Please don’t take anything I tweet too seriously. Lots of love xx.”

“In childhood we crave stability and love, nurturing, we don’t care about money or proximity to power yet. Many of the nepo babies are starved of these basic things in childhood as their parents are probably narcissistic. ½,” she tweeted on December 19th. “And entertainment business is not parent friendly eg.. Touring/ months away shooting. It can be hard to see one’s own privilege when you’re still processing childhood trauma, and a lot of these kids haven’t figured that out yet.”
