Michael Allio and Danielle Maltby met and fell in love during this past season of "Bachelor In Paradise."
The two have similar pasts as Danielle Maltby lost her fiancé to a drug overdose while Michael Allio lost his wife to breast cancer.
Although they did not get engaged at the end of "Paradise," they are continuing their relationship and are gearing up for their first holiday season together.
Michael Allio and Danielle Maltby's Holiday Plans
Danielle Maltby is dishing on what her and Michael's plans are for the holidays -- and it seems like it will be a busy one!
"What aren’t we doing!" she told Bachelor Nation. "I am driving up to Akron this weekend for Christmas but also for some job shadows, and then the following weekend we are heading up to the northwoods of Wisconsin to do Christmas with my family."
"So happy we are able to have time with both our families," she continued. "I can’t wait to spend Christmas with Michael and James."
James is Michael's son with his first wife, and it seems he has really warmed up to Danielle. Michael recently spoke out about their first time meeting, to which he said, "When we first introduced him, I think we'd been dating for maybe, you know, six weeks, five weeks, which is way quicker than the timeline that I normally would have. But I'm glad I did it. I saw their connection immediately and it's just a beautiful thing.”
Danielle Says Michael Is Her "Gift"
Going into the New Year, Danielle Maltby told Bachelor Nation that she is thankful she has Michael by her side.
"I feel like I’m constantly in awe of the support that’s just given so easy, and knowing my fears in past relationships of being too much for someone just aren’t true with him," she said. "I am enough and I can count on him. I’ve learned that I’m actually in a partnership and dating someone who is more than capable of support. He’s my gift."
Michael Speaks Out After "Bachelor In Paradise"
After "Bachelor In Paradise" came to an end, Michael Allio took to Instagram to speak out on his and Danielle's relationship.
"Where do I begin?," he wrote. "Well, I feel like my journey to find love has been far from ordinary. I’ve never been one to shy away from risk, often preferring to create my own fresh set of footprints on this road less traveled. I’m an adventurer at heart, but little did I know how this journey would end nor the challenges I would face along the way. But I guess that’s the point, isn’t it? We’re not supposed to know how it ends… just expected to muster up enough courage to begin… and to keep going when times get tough. And trust me when I say… this has been tough."
Michael found himself in hot water due to his first relationship on the beach with Sierra Jackson. The two built a connection almost immediately as Michael broke down his walls and opened up about the loss of his wife, Laura, and how life is as a single parent. Sierra responded with support, and even named a group of stars after Michael’s family, including his late wife.
Unfortunately, that was the same night Michael ended things with Sierra, which threw her off guard. The single father said there was “something missing” between them, leaving Sierra heartbroken.

"I leaned on my supporters to help heal the wounds left behind from my critics," Michael continued to write on social media. "Those overly eager to pass judgement and click rather than take time to understand another’s plight. I don’t harbor any ill will towards them for they just don’t understand. At first, sifting through the “real” from the “fake” was a challenge… that is until it became habit. After that, my path became clear. I’m thankful for this… because that path led me to you Miss Maltby. A most beautiful gift that I’ll never feel quite worthy of but one that I’ll never take for granted."
He concluded, "So where do I begin? How about take my hand… after all it's just the beginning… I love you Dani. Time to light a fire with the love they left behind ❤️."
