Khloe Kardashian is responding to a lawsuit accusing her company ‘Good American’ of ripping off the design for its bodysuits, and says the allegations are an outright lie and is calling the situation an ‘outrage.’
According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, the ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star is claims she stole the design for her bodysuits from a Los Angeles independent designer called, ‘dbluedazzled.’
Khloe claims not only is the allegation false, but she can also prove it, and adds the products don’t even look the same at all anyways!
In her response, Khole outlines how she first came into contact with the L.A designer and explains how without her knowledge a former stylist brought her ‘catsuits’ from this company during a fitting.
“My former stylist ‘without my prior knowledge or authorization, brought three (3) catsuits from dbleudazzled to a fitting for me,” Khloe states, Adding, “She was told the catsuits were “gifts from Destiney Bleu.” (The owner of the company)
“I was flattered but very surprised that Destiny and dbleudazzled would gift me those items since I happily paid full price for all of the other items I purchased from dbluedazzled,” Khloe says.
She continues, “Moreover, harkening back to my days running my small boutique Dash with my sisters, I like supporting small shops and independent designers.”
In the filing, Khloe says a few weeks later, after altering the suits, she was informed they needed to be returned or purchased. “Unfortunately, they had already been altered to fit my body, and couldn’t be returned,” she said.
“I never would have ordered the catsuits and had no interest in purchasing them,” Khloe added.
As we reported, the company dbleudazzled sued Khloe Kardashian and ‘Good American’ claiming the designs were stolen and Khloe’s company put out a similar product with compensation them.
In Khloe’s response, she says, “When Destiney claimed in June of 2017 that I and Good American somehow copied her catsuit designs for Good American’s line of bodysuits, I was outraged.”
Adding, “There is absolutely no truth whatsoever to this claim. As I said, I never showed anyone at Good American sample or photographs of any of the debludazzed designs.”
As for the three catsuits, she continued, “I have never worm them. I have never shown the dbleudazzled catsuits to anyone at Good American, and before Good American’s line of bodysuits was launched in early June 2017, when Destiney and dbluedazzled first claimed that Good American’s bodysuits copied Destiney’s catsuit design, I never discussed dbleudazzled’s products with anyone at Good American.’
“After Destiney repeatedly falsely accused me and Good American — both on social media and other news outlets — of stealing her designs, I spoke out publicly to defend myself against her false, defamatory, and specious allegations,” Khloe says in her response.
Adding “Moreover, the catsuits that (her stylist) obtained from dbleudazzled for me look nothing like the embellished Good American bodysuits.”
The ‘KUWTK’ star included photos of the three suits she was given by the other company, showing how different they look from her own products.
“Each of these designs is a full body garment with legs, long sleeves, and crystals embellished evenly across the garments,” she says of dbluedazzled’s designs.
Khole attached another photo of herself wearing a Good American bodysuit, and says, “Unlike the dbluedazzled catsuits, the Good American bodysuit is more like a leotard, with no legs and meant to be paired with jeans, pants or a skirt, it is sleeveless and the crystal embellishments are focused around the bust of the bodysuit, rather than being evenly distributed across the garment.”
In the end, Khloe’s lawyers are asking for the lawsuit against the reality show star to be dismissed.
