Why have a fake elf on the shelf when you can have a real one?
That must have been one mom's thought when she hired her son to play the role of a live elf on a shelf and sit high above the kitchen during her holiday party. The live elf on the shelf, Parker Allen Stanley, shared the hilarious video on TikTok showing the fun job he was asked to do that led him to more holiday jobs doing the same.

The video that shows Stanley playing the role of a live elf on the shelf at his mom's holiday party captioned, "It’s me. I’m the gay," went viral quickly, getting more than 26 million views and 4 million likes in just four days. More than 15K followers had something to say about the hilarious job Stanley was hired for in the comment section of the viral video.
"The way everyone around is just unbothered I’d be looking at you and laughing the entire night ?," one follower wrote. Another viewer had a funny take on the situation writing, "It was her way of saying 'you're not invited' but you live here so here do this ????" Another person thought it was the perfect job saying, "Oh to just sit and listen to a random family’s drama and get PAID to do it? Dream job."
The video had some viewers thinking outside the box. One person wrote, "WAIT HIRE SOMEBODY TO DO THIS AND THEN DONT TELL ANY GUESTS AND SEE WHO NOTICES/WHO DOESNT ?" and another added some questions about the evening, "I have questions. does he just sit there and make catty remarks ? or is it more stereotypical oohs and aahhs. I need to knowww."
Rebranding Time! Introducing The "Twink Above The Sink!"
Stanley started thinking that maybe calling himself the gay elf on the shelf could become a logistical nightmare and thought maybe he would take the advice of some commenters who suggested he's more of a "Twink Above the Sink."
Many of Stanley's followers commented on his boots and gave him thoughts on his rebranding. "Don’t you mean you’ve done some ‘twinking’?…sorry bestie I had to, love you mean it!" one follower wrote. Another viewer simply suggested, "Rainbow suit."

After people took notice of the viral video, Stanley got more party requests. One party didn't supply a shelf so Stanley jokingly said, "Here I was thinking I was gonna be gay elf on the shelf but I'm still twink above the sink."
In one video, we see Stanley sitting on the sink during a private cookie decorating party in Los Angeles. He captioned the video, " The twink *next* to the sink makes a triumphant return ☠️" The video shows an awkwardly quiet party with everyone decorating cookies and Stanley just sitting behind them watching. "I promise it wasn't as weird as it looks LOL."
One viewer suggested a new strategy saying, "They should take breaks every hour, and then you should reappear somewhere else in a different pose. ???" Another viewer pointed out, "When he said he was hired for a private party I was expecting something a bit more lavish…either way it’s awkwardly amusing," to which Stanley replied, "Girl same - but they paying my bills so it was a LUXARY kitchen to me!!!"
