Offset is still grieving the loss of his cousin and rap partner, Takeoff. He posted a message about grief on Twitter and it was not received well.
Offset Is Hurting
The rapper posted a photo of Takeoff on stage and captioned the post, “Shit not easy fake smiling and shit tryna keep walking with my head up.” The photo of Takeoff featured the rapper on stage with a mic in his hand and listening to the crowd rap his lyrics back to him.
The rapper appeared to be in a lot of pain and struggling with how to cope. He doesn’t often share his sorrow, in fact, he was criticized for not grieving enough when the news of Takeoff broke.
It looks like history is repeating itself now that Offset is being more candid about his grief following Takeoff’s murder. His followers are policing his pain and expressing how annoying they find him.
Offset Accused Of Capitalizing On Takeoff’s Murder
The rapper’s comments have been flooded with hate for the way he is now grieving his cousin’s loss.
“Then stop it who you faking for? This seems like cap for attention at least Quavo went ghost to heal or do whatever he needed you can’t seem to help but perform and be on social media using Takeoff for clout,” criticizes one follower.
“So say what really happened,” accuses another follower, insinuating that Offset has some insider details that he isn’t sharing.
One follower went as far as to post a photo of Offset and Cardi B on their Jamaica vacation and accused him of having too much fun to be grieving, “fake smile, stop trying blinding us.”
It’s Not All Bad For Offset
The rapper surely had a few haters but the love he received overshadowed those who doubt that he is hurting. “Keep your head up. He would want you to continue living your life. Still praying for you man,” writes one fan.
“Just take it one day at a time King 🙏🏾”
“Can’t say enough how sorry 😞 we are this is really hard to process,” encouraged another follower.
Some consoles Offset by reminding him of what a great person Takeoff was. “Takeoff was LIFE. He was sunshine, light, love, & laughter. Remember him for who he was & not for what happened. I know it's tuff because of the situation at the time of his death. He is ur brother & U are here to represent, uphold, & keep his spirit alive. It's ok not to be ok 🙏🏿”
Takeoff’s Untimely Murder
Takeoff was the youngest member of the Migos and according to both Quavo and Offset, he was the best of the bunch. He was unfortunately gunned down by a stray bullet recently after a night out playing pool and dice at a Texas bar.
So far three men have been arrested in connection to the murder but the masses have been keeping their eye on Quavo and Offset and micromanaging how they are grieving. They have also criticized Cardi B for now posting a social media tribute to Takeoff in a timeframe that they deemed appropriate.
