Police added that the men left the scene of the shooting in a black Taurus and a silver-colored Chrysler 300. A weapon was also recovered following the aftermath of the gunfire.

"We don’t expect this type of activity in this neighborhood," said Deputy Chief Daniel O’Shea in a news conference on Tuesday. "This area is well policed, and this is something that was specifically targeted for these individuals... To see this happen in the middle of the day is very, very disturbing."

O'Shea also asks for anyone to assist in the investigation if they know any information regarding the shooting.

"We’ll take every tip we can get. It could be the most minute thing but it helps our detectives out in putting the pieces of this puzzle together,"

Activist Ja'Mal Green also spoke to the Chicago Sun-Times regarding how popular Duck was in the city.

"He was pretty popular and, at the end of the day, there are going to be a lot of people angry at this," the 24-year-old shared.

"A lot of young people are going to lose hope because he was an idol. It’s going to take the city a large effort to help young people cope with this loss."

Chicago Mayor, Lori Lightfoot, also co-signed the police's plea for the public to help them. She claimed that people should “Give no shelter to killers.”

“What we’re seeing is a manifestation of a larger problem, which is that way too many young men — particularly young men of color — have access to guns and are willing to use those guns to settle petty grievances,” Lightfoot added. “We must step up and do the right thing. People who are involved in these shootings are not strangers. They are known in the community, on the block.”

Prior to Duck's murder, he released his new "Dead B" single on August 1. His last project was his 'Big Clout 2' mixtape in 2018.
