Jeff Garlin Joins Cast Of 'Never Have I Ever' For Final Season

Deadline reports that actor and comedian Jeff Garlin, a veteran of such shows as "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "The Goldbergs," has been cast in Mindy Kaling's "Never Have I Ever." Garlin joins the cast for the show's fourth and final season.

Deadline notes that Garlin will portray the role of Len, who will serve as a love interest for the character of Nirmala (Ranjita Chakravarty) in Season 4. Len is described as a "sweet man" who makes Nirmala (Ranjita Chakravarty), Devi's grandmother, rethink if she is done with relationships for good.
Season 4 will also feature a wedding next season, with multiple candidates who could be the potential bride, including Devi's mother, Dr. Nalini Vishwakumar (Poorna Jagannathan), and even Nirmala. Nalini will also have a new love interest in Season 4, who will be played by Ivan Hernandez. Also, her cousin Kamal Naddiwadal is in a serious relationship with English teacher Manish Kulkarni (portrayed by Utkarsh Ambudkar).
Another potential bridge candidate is Ramona Young's Eleanor Wong, who is dating Trent Harrison (Benjamin Norris). Fans will have to wait until Season 4 drops next year. to find out who is walking down the aisle.
The show marks Garlin's first casting since exiting his role as Murray Goldberg on the hit ABC sitcom, "The Goldbergs," during the show's ninth season. Garlin portrayed the character for nine seasons. As reported by The Blast, he left the show during the filming of season nine due to complaints of inappropriate behavior on the set. Multiple cast and crew members reportedly alleged verbal and physical conduct by Garlin while filming that made them uncomfortable.
With regards to his casting, as noted by Deadline, one of Garlin's reps is David Miner at 3 Arts Entertainment. Miner is also an executive producer on "Never Have I Ever."
After leaving "The Goldbergs," Garlin insisted he was not fired from the show and denied allegations of creating an unsafe working environment. The actor told Vanity Fair in December 2021, "It’s always the same thing. It’s about me and my silliness on set. They don’t think it’s appropriate. I do. That’s where we’re at. I’ve not been fired because of it. We just think differently."
"Never Have I Ever" is produced by Universal Television in association with 3 Arts Entertainment, Original Langster, and Kaling International. Kaling co-created the show with Lang Fisher.
Garlin can also be seen in the upcoming Tinseltown period drama, "Babylon," opposite Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie. He portrays the fictional studio head, Don Wallach, in the upcoming picture, which is written and directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Damien Chazelle. "Babylon" arrives in theaters on Friday, December 23.
The fourth and final season of "Never Have I Ever" will debut on Netflix later in 2023. It does not yet have an official release date. The other three seasons are available now on the streaming service.
Garlin has also starred opposite Larry David on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" since the show's first season as Larry's best friend and manager, Jeff. Variety reported earlier in August that Garlin is still part of the cast for the show's upcoming 12th season, which is currently filming. Season 11 debuted last year on HBO.
