Veteran movie star, Jane Fonda, born on December 21, 1937, is celebrating her 85th birthday in the most thoughtful way after announcing the end of her battle with cancer. Fonda took her time to include her enthusiastic fans in this year's celebration by reading out the heart-lifting letters sent to her from around the world.
Jane Fonda, 85, Loves Reading Heartwarming Letters From Fans
The two-time Oscars winner was beyond grateful to receive the beautiful messages from her fans even though she could not read them all out. On Instagram, she made a collaborative post with her activism brand Jane Fonda Climate PAC, featuring a video of her sitting on a couch and wearing a cream turtleneck sweater, dark pants, and a yellow cap.
Before going through the letters, Fonda appreciated all the senders and urged others to still send their letters in. She said, "I love reading your birthday messages, you guys. You know our inbox isn't closed yet, by the way. You can still send your messages on the form."
The "Sunday in New York" actress referred to the form on her website, JanePAC.com but provided an alternative for the messages; texting BIRTHDAY to 40506, which was repeated in the post's caption.
Her first pick was a letter from Cynthia, a northern Minnesota native, who gushed about how Fonda's work motivated her to return to "campaigns and activism." The seven-time Golden Globe Award recipient showered her with praises and called Minnesota a "beautiful part of the country" where the water in the creeks and lakes were drinkable.
At the same time, she revealed that her activism efforts in the state were unsuccessful, and she hoped the water never got affected by pipe pollution. Returning to the letter, she read: "My heart soared when I read your health update in your blog. You inspire this 50-year-old grandma every day!"

In the second message from Chelsey in Nashville, she was delighted upon hearing Fonda's cancer had gone into remission just in time for her special day. Chelsey also stressed the impact of the "Period of Adjustment" star's activism and acting in her life, which has "truly opened my eyes to what is happening in the world."
As someone from a "very conservative family and hometown," she had to unlearn many things, thanks to Fonda and was inspired to volunteer during the 2020 election. Concluding the letter, Chelsey conveyed her anticipation in seeing the icon's upcoming movies while wishing her "all the happiness, health, and blessings in this next year."
A London-based 12-year-old's note came up next, and it was filled with gratitude to Fonda for being a fantastic inspiration and getting her out of "some really bad places." The sender, Leila, further declared that her goal in life was to help Fonda realize "how much of an amazing, beautiful, gorgeous person you are inside out."
In the final letter, Janine penned short and sweet words that read, "Happy Birthday, beautiful lady. I am so incredibly happy for you. You are amazing and strong – I absolutely love you."
Celebrating her 85th birthday is just one of the great things that Fonda has going for her. The Blast recently shared that the actress took to her website to share her cancer remission news, calling it the "BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT!!!"
The Emmy winner expressed how blessed she felt and appreciated those who sent prayers her way. She also revealed that the first four chemo treatments were pretty straightforward, but the final one was difficult; nevertheless, she was over the moon to mark her birthday in perfect health.
'The Dollmaker' Star Steps Out For The First Time After Cancer Diagnosis
Fonda was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in September, and she made her first public appearance since the diagnosis at the 2022 Pennsylvania Conference For Women. The Blast reported that she looked radiant in a custom light gray plaid suit, and all smiled on stage. Her blazer was belted, and she wore a white vest underneath.
In addition, the "Klute" actress' silver hair was styled down while she paired her clothing with gold earrings and a bracelet. As for the conference, it is a non-profit, professional, and personal development event seeking to empower women.
It included over a hundred noteworthy female speakers who discussed the vital problems women face daily, ranging from work/life balance, health, business, personal finance, and entrepreneurship, among many subjects.
