Bindi Irwin Acknowledges Fans For Their Support Of 'Wild 2022'

Bindi Irwin is grateful to the Australian zoo fans after a whirlwind year!

The star, famous for being the first child of the renowned late conservationist and television personality Steve Irwin, now runs his Australian zoo alongside her mother, Terri Irwin, the current owner. She took to social media to thank their supporters for keeping them busy and booked and to appreciate their team, who keep the wheel running smoothly. 

The 24-year-old took to her Instagram page to reflect on the entire year in a short but sweet selfie video that showed her dressed in work clothes and a plum-colored eyeshadow on her eyelids. She started by saying:

"Hi guys, it's another beautiful day here at Australia zoo, and I just wanted to record this video to thank you so much for your amazing support."

She stated they had been very busy with work at the zoo, their non-profit organization called "Wildlife Warriors," supporting their Australia zoo wildlife hospital, and "the many different conservation projects we have worldwide." 

The zookeeper credited their followers for being able to handle the work and support all the conservation work on a global scale. She then thanked the teams managing the zoo and the NGO as she described them as a family working together to make a difference on the planet.

Ending the video, she said, "It's been a wild 2022," and then stumbled over her words while saying she was "looking forward to a great 2020... 23." To explain the minor slip-up, she admitted in her caption that she had not gotten enough sleep because her daughter was teething. 

The "Dancing with the Stars" winner followed in her late father's footsteps and is determined not to forget his influence on her life and the world through his work with wild animals. To remind everyone what a superhero he was, The Blast shared that she paid him a touching tribute while celebrating World Elephant Day. 

On her page, she posted a throwback picture of the 44-year-old sitting "Indian style" on an open desert field facing a large herd of elephants that ranged from adults to babies. In the caption, she noted that the image was taken in Africa in the 2000s while her dad was filming "The Crocodile Hunter," adding that being in the presence of the regal animals was a magical experience. 

Bindi ended the caption with a PSA, writing, "This #WorldElephantDay and every day we must think about our impacts on the planet and how they ripple out towards our fellow species. Their future depends on us."

Fans of the reality TV star agreed with her message in the comments, as some recalled watching the late conservationist on television as kids. One user wrote, "I loved watching him when I was a little kid ❤️ He made the early 2000s so special!"

Another person noted, "One of my most favorite episodes ever….," while an enthusiastic fan stated, "People need to think seriously about what a world without elephants would be. Beyond devastating ?." 

The "Curious George" guest star shares the 1-year-old with her husband, professional wakeboarder Chandler Powell and they seem to be having a great time raising the tiny tot.

Per The Blast, the actress was asked to write the foreword on a book, "Good Night Stories from Rebel Girls: 100 Inspiring Changemakers," which she took up quickly as she believed that it was inspiring as well as an honor to be considered. 

According to PEOPLE, written like a bedtime storybook, it would contain biographies of other notable personalities doing great things in their areas of interest, including Emma Raducanu, Zendaya, and Greta Thunberg, amongst others. Bindi noted:

"I'm excited for my beautiful daughter to read this series as she grows up, as I know she'll be empowered by the incredible stories shared."

Bindi expressed her excitement at being Grace’s mother and the thought of guiding her till she was ready to take on the world on her own, filled with confidence. She also hoped to encourage the upcoming to believe in their strength and ability to make a difference in the world.

Her mother, who was also present, disclosed that her granddaughter Grace "already has such a strong and independent personality." Terri further stated that she hoped the little girl was aware of their support to take on anything she decided to do.
