Taylor Swift & Karlie Kloss: Kaylor Romance Rumors, Revisited -- Part 1

Taylor Swift took the world for a tailspin when she casually dropped her 8th album "folklore" last Friday...and thanks to some forthright lyrics, the locals are just learning about her relationship with supermodel Karlie Kloss (even though it's not even news and traces back like eight years).

In case you missed it though - starting around 2014, Swift and Kloss were seemingly inseparable. They dressed alike, lived together, and even had a slight scandal on their hands after they were supposedly caught not kissing at a concert.

It was a widespread thing that Karlie and Taylor might've been more than friends...Swift squashed the allegations, but it wasn't the end of whatever it was (or still is...?)

Actively amping up the Kaylor chatter right now: Karlie Kloss herself, who is absolutely wildin over on Instagram.

People think she's playing a ping-pong match with Swift's stuff (new lyrics, past posts, overall aesthetic, etc.)...and they're actually not wrong.

Her latest online antics came last night...see if you can make sense of it.

lf you can't figure it out now, it'll definitely make sense later. This is a seriously wild ride that has to be started where it all started to begin with. It's littered with both credible and crazy clues, the latter of which are largely omitted unless necessary for contextual purposes. With that said...

The first Kaylor communication waves came from Swift, who hollered at Kloss via Vogue (...you'll soon see they had a habit of this).

It was January 2012, and Taylor had just turned the same age as her forthcoming song "22."

Swift spent the day with the story writer at fashion designer Prabal Gurung's New York studio, where she saw a polaroid on the wall.

“'I love Karlie Kloss,' she says and touches the picture. 'I want to bake cookies with her!'"

Karlie, who was 19 back then, tweeted Taylor that same day: "Hey @taylorswift13 love the @voguemagazine cover! Your kitchen or mine? :)"

They finally connected almost two years later at the 2013 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, where, swimming in Swarovski, Karlie got a little handsy with her newfound friend.

She soon told HollywoodLife that her whole night's highlight "was actually Taylor."

"I'm a big Taylor Swift fan. I thought she rocked it, she rocked the runway. She is the sweetest girl. So down to earth. I was really pleasantly surprised by how nice and normal she is. We'd never met before [the show], but we're BFFs now."

Kloss just kept on gushing: "No, we really are. We've hung out since and she's really nice. It was nice to meet another American girl; we're the same age...she's so inspiring."

And Karlie wasn't kidding about being fast friends.

Three months after the 2013 VS Fashion Show (and three days after the 2014 Vanity Fair Oscars Party), the leggy pair took a secluded road trip together.

Their destination: straight up the California coast, to Deetjen's Big Sur Inn (...off of SR-1, also known as "the 1," also the name of track one on Swift's "folklore").

Those following the Kaylor trail have always narrowed in on the Inn's website, which says they offer "no televisions, internet access or telephones in the rooms, and no cell phone coverage on the property," making it "suitable primarily for couples, individuals and small gatherings."

Even so, Instagram was plastered with photos from what PopSugar described as their "dreamy vacation," also sharing one of Swift's since-deleted captions: "Beach, forests, cliffs, Northern California, sand, flower picking. Best road trip ever."

From that point on, flowers - daisies, to be exact - became thematic to the Taylor/Karlie concord...as did the color yellow, and maybe even gold.
