Demi Lovato's former boyfriend/now fiancé Max Ehrich put a ring on it last week! Meanwhile, his longtime love for Lovato's non-friend Selena Gomez is surfacing again (even though he's deleted his side...sort of!).

If you don't already know: Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez don't mix, and they haven't for a while (because "people can go from people you know to people you don't ...so Selena says.)

Even so, Emmy-nominated Ehrich hasn't been shy about being a Selenator. His devotion dates back an entire decade, leaving some to think it's no coincidence that he proposed to Demi on Selena's birthday.

Max has mostly deleted his own part of the very-public paper trail - but screenshots are serving as backup.

Speaking of backup: Lovato and Gomez began their self-stated best friendship while filming "Barney & Friends" in the early 2000s. They graduated on to the Disney Channel together, and have since had a well-documented series of falling outs.

Yet somehow the public-at-large still thinks the two Dallas natives are connected at the hip. Either Demi's fiancé is doing the same thing or he's turning a blind eye, because he's been gushing over Gomez the entire time.

He began by giving Gomez professional props, telling Popstar he wanted "to work with her so bad."

In the same 2010 sit-down, Max said Selena's "so funny," "her comedic timing and everything is so fantastic," "she's so talented," "she's a great singer," also adding that he'd "love to sing with her," "love to act with her," and that "she's awesome."

What's making the biggest waves right now is Max's August 2018 tweet, where he flat-out said, "I'm going to marry @selenagomez."

Sounds like one-off sentiment, until you see what surrounded it.

The 2019 Twitter thread, showing stars that "have had a crush on Selena Gomez," pointed out that Max Ehrich had "made many attempts to get her attention through social media comments on both her insta and Twitter but especialy instagram live-streams."

He even came back later to tell everyone "it's not a joke."

As mentioned, Max has since deleted almost anything even alluding to Selena, including the August 2018 tweets (and several things surrounding them).

There is some still-standing evidence on his Instagram, though.

Two days after tweeting his plan "to marry Selena Gomez," Max selectively responded to a series of comments about the singer.

“Do you love Selena Gomez?” someone asked on Instagram, receiving an almost instantaneous "?" back from Max.

Max, who's also a singer/songwriter, later left a like under one a reply that said "Oohh you have sexy voice @maxehrich selena will like that please date selena gomez ASAP thank you ??"

His telling tweet and simple replies only added weight to the aforementioned/since-deleted tattoo photo from two months later: an S-shape with the caption, "One day, I'll marry you."

It's no secret that Lovato and Ehrich escalated quite quickly - from first dating to now-engagement within four months.

Their relationship was met with mixed feelings from the start.

A major point of pain: Max's 10-year track record of Selena-supporting.

"This Max Ehrich guy seems nice but he's a known compulsive fan of Selena Gomez," someone said last month. "He's been in 'Selenator' group chats for years now and openly used to tweet creepy messages to her to get her attention. Demi deserves the world and I really hope he can give her that."

Others found it funny that Demi's July 23rd engagement fell on both Selena Gomez's birthday and ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama's anniversary, one writing it "was win for both of them."

Demi dated Wilmer for six years and he's now engaged himself. However - if Max expects to see Selena at the wedding, he'll likely leave disappointed.

In April, Harper's Bazaar cornered Lovato about Gomez, to which Demi straight-up said "I'm not friends with her."

As if that coffin needed another nail: Demi became the subject a Selena-centered scandal that same month when she was accused of running a now-defunct Finsta account...one almost entirely dedicated to shading her former friend.

Demi's fake Instagram was believed to be "real" after someone screen-recorded her live-streaming from the handle in-question (@traumaqueen4eva) - and Max was right by her side.

Max was said to have "unfollowed all the Selena fanpages" he was following hours within hours of his engagement to Demi Lovato.
