The reality star bragged about being a millionaire in season one of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City only to be accused of fraud and money laundering and have her house raided on reality TV.

The raid pulled up the shocking detail that Shah had just purchased a lot of counterfeit “designer” handbags and jewelry. Why she would have these and so many may be a mystery to most, but the number of bags and jewelry found could suggest that she is playing up her life for housewife status.

In documents obtained by PageSix, the high-end designers whose bags she had counterfeit versions of include, “Louis Vuitton,” “Chanel,” “Fendi” and “Jimmy Choo,” as per the legal documents.

The 49-year-old now has a long battle ahead of her since being arrested in 2021 on wire fraud and money laundering charges. She was allegedly ripping off victims in a telemarketing scheme. During the raid for this scheme was when the purses were taken.

Initially, the local police and feds came looking for Jen while filming the real housewives. In a now unforgettable scene, fans got to watch the authorities show up at her Salt Lake home and trek inside looking for her.

Jen is still on the hook to pay $6.5 million of the $9.5 million in restitution. Many of Jen’s co-stars were shocked to learn of what she had been up to because in season one she made it seem like she was a legit businesswoman. “What I’ve done for the last 20 years is direct response marketing. I make millions,” she said in a confessional in 2019.

She went on brag, “Hey, you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do for money. I’m like the Wizard of Oz.”

In addition to the fake bags and accessories, Shah’s beautiful $3.9 million Salt Lake City home wasn’t actually hers. She allegedly was renting the place she dubbed “Shah Ski Chalet”. It is actually owned by a Texas real estate company that did her a solid and kept their mouths shut for two whole seasons while Jen passed off their beautiful property as her own.

We’re sure that had its own benefits for them if she hadn’t gotten caught up in all this mess.
