Iggy Azaela is facing a $250,000 judgment in the legal battle brought by a rollerblader who was allegedly hit by her car.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the man suing Iggy and French Montana’s brother over a car accident is now demanding $250,000 in damages.
Back in 2018, a man named Jeffrey Linettsued Iggy and Ayoub Kharbouch, the younger brother to French Montana. Jeffrey claims that on November 9, 2016 he was roller blading in Los Angeles when he was struck by Azalea's 2015 grey Jeep Wrangler.
Jeffrey says French's brother was behind the wheel, and claims neither person in the car was paying attention when they "recklessly and carelessly" rolled into his path and collided with him.
The lawsuit said Ayoub was “snapchatting” while operating the SUV and blamed his distracted driving as the reason for the crash.
At the time, Iggy was dating French and was frequently seen out and about with him and his brother. Jeffrey said he suffered extreme physical and emotional damages, including medical bills. The lawsuit originally was seeking an unspecified amount in damages due to the plaintiff still figuring out his medical bills.
In newly filed documents, Jeffrey says his injuries are severe and he need to undergo special surgery
. He writes, “Plaintiff contends that the negligence of both Defendants resulted in serious injuries to Plaintiff. Per the board certified surgeon’s reports, Plaintiff is a qualified candidate for ACDF notwithstanding the previous less invasive treatment he has undergone (which has been extensive). Est. Future: $250,000.”
Iggy has remained quiet about the situation publicly. A judge has yet to rule in the case.
The lawsuit is probably the last thing Iggy wants to deal with after recently welcoming a baby into the world with rapper Playboy Carti. French Montana is facing his own sexual battery lawsuit which is still pending.
Sources close to the situation tell The Blast, even though Iggy is still a party in the lawsuit -- she will not be personally responsible to pay any judgement awarded to the person who filed the lawsuit. We're told the vehicle and the driver are covered by insurance, and most likely it will pay any settlement in the case. Plus, in the state of California their is a limit to the amount that can be awarded against Iggy, which is well under $275,000.
