Trouble In "Paradise"? Another "BIP" Couple May Have Split

Romeo Alexander and Kira Mengistu grabbed the attention of "Bachelor In Paradise"fans during Season 8 of the reality television show.

Kira was sent home early on, but in her surprise return to the beach, she confessed to Romeo she was not ready to give up.

“I really wish we had given this a real try ... I just feel like it’s unfinished business,” she told Romeo before asking him to leave the beach with her. After a very prolonged pause, Romeo decided he would leave with her.

His awkward smile at the end when talking to the cameras with Kira had Bachelor Nation concerned for his safety. The two continued to poke fun at the awkward encounter on social media (including one video where Kira "kidnapped" Romeo) before revealing at the reunion that they were still together and happy.

Though, now it seems there is trouble in paradise.

Although the two confirmed they were in a happy relationship together during the "Bachelor In Paradise" reunion, it seems now that they may have split.

First, Romeo posted to Instagram, "It’s been a journey, but it’s time to say goodbye to the lip biter. #authenticity #growth #change #honesty."

Then, Kira reshared a post to her Instagram Story, which read "To avoid disappointment, take people as they are and not what they could be." Kira also deleted all of the photos of her and Romeo from her Instagram page.

Though neither have confirmed a split, the indications from both Romeo and Kira are leading fans to believe the end has arrived for the "Paradise" couple.

Despite receiving backlash due to her behavior on "Bachelor In Paradise," Kira is grateful for her time on the show.

"Admittedly, I was an agent of chaos during my time in Paradise," she told Cosmopolitan, "My time on the show included a love triangle, an argument on the beach, consensually nipple-rubbing a male contestant, and bouncing from one guy to another until I finally left Paradise with my Romeo (Alexander). I was quite a 'colorful character.' It was harmless fun."

She continued, "But within a day of the first episode airing, I started receiving hateful messages and comments on my social media pages and various forums saying that my behavior was not appropriate for a doctor. Some very concerned citizens wondered what my employers at University of Pennsylvania would think. While I initially ignored the barrage of low blows at my professionalism and my ability to do my job as a doctor, I couldn’t stay silent for long."

"I doubt I would have gotten as much backlash as I did if I were a man, and in fact, men on the show have rarely received such vicious backlash as I did when it comes to their careers," she said before stating, "Women are constantly held to a higher standard, especially those who make it far up the corporate ladder."
