Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon will headline and executive produce a new comedy series for Amazon Prime Video. The new show, "All Stars," has already received a two-season, straight-to-series order from the streamer, per Deadline.

Amazon reportedly outbid multiple other outlets for the series, which is conceived by Aline Brosh McKenna ("Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," "The Devil Wears Prada"). Witherspoon's own Hello Sunshine banner is producing the show.
The upcoming show follows a former cheerleader, who will be portrayed by Witherspoon, who grifts her way across the Atlantic in order to teach a cheerleading school in England. The series is loosely inspired by the story of Andrea Kulberg, a former University of Texas cheerleader, who is now the owner of a cheerleading school with her twin sister, Aly, in the U.K. Hello Sunshine brought the idea to Brosh McKenna, who worked with Witherspoon in the Hello Sunshine-produced film, "Your Place or Mine." Brosh McKenna wrote and directed the film, which is due out in February 2023.
This would be the latest streaming television project for the Academy Award and Primetime Emmy winner. Witherspoon currently stars in "The Morning Show" for Apple TV+. The show's third season is nearly finished with production. She received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her work on the show as Bradley Jackson earlier this year.
As reported by The Blast, Witherspoon is also set to return to her iconic role of Tracy Flick from the 1999 cult classic, "Election." The new season, "Tracy Flick Can't Win," reunites Witherspoon with "Election" writer-director Alexander Payne. It's currently in the works as a straight-to-streaming feature for Paramount+.
Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine also has multiple irons in the fire with Prime Video, including "Daisy Jones and the Six," along with upcoming features based on the Dolly Parton and James Patterson book, "Run, Rose, Run," and a "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" feature film she's collaborating on with Build-a-Bear Workshop Entertainment.
Witherspoon is also reportedly slated to return to the role of Elle Woods in the upcoming "Legally Blonde 3." The last installment of the franchise, "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde," came out in 2023. The film was a success at the box office, grossing $90 million domestically and $124 million worldwide. The first film was released way back in 2001.
MGM Studios first announced the sequel and Witherspoon's return as Elle Woods back in October 2020. However, it likely underwent delays due to the ongoing pandemic. Between her returns to classic roles, such as Elle Woods and Tracy Flick, it looks like Witherspoon's career is going through an interesting type of personal renaissance as of late. However, she is also still lining up fresh projects, such as "All Stars," as well.
"Legally Blonde 3," starring Witherspoon, does not yet have an official release date. Meanwhile, her other upcoming show, "All Stars," will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video later on. Her series "The Morning Show," which also stars Jennifer Aniston, is streaming now on Apple TV+.
