Britney Spears Fans Petition White House To Take Action Against Conservatorship, Receive 85,000 Signatures

The calls for Britney Spears to be freed from her 12-year conservatorship continue to grow and fans are now asking the White House for help.
The #FreeBritney movement has been gaining supporters by the minute in the past couple of weeks. They have been demanding action be taken to free Britney from the court-ordered conservatorship she has been placed in. Her fans believe the 38-year-old singer has had her civil liberties violated by the court and her own father, who is in charge of his adult daughter’s every move.

The supports are planning to make noise at the upcoming court hearing for the conservatorship on July 22nd at the downtown Los Angeles courthouse.
Britney’s fan also recently launched a White House petition, which if received 100,000 signatures they are required to respond in some manner to the petition. At the moment, the petition has already received 85,411 signatures and only needs an additional 14,589 to be presented to The White House.
The signatures added continue to grow by the minute.
The petition reads, “Since 2008 Britney Spears has been in a conservatorship that gives her conservator full control over her personal life & finances/estate. Conservatorships are typically used for those that are SEVERELY mentally ill. Since ‘08, she has been on 3 world tours with dangerous flying & fire stunts. It’s safe to say she is sane enough to feed and cloth herself. With this conservatorship she is unable to properly fight for her freedom as she isn’t legally allowed to hire her own lawyer. We need this petition so that Britney can hire her own lawyer and live a normal life as a 38 year old woman with two kids.”
“She has tried over the years to fight, attempts were shut down. Please look into this case. Every American deserves civil liberties.”
One of the biggest supporters of the #FreeBritney movement is “Real Housewives of New York” star Leah McSweeney. She recently posted a photo wearing a Britney sweatshirt captioned, “Stay strong @britneyspears We love you. #freebritney”
As The Blast previously reported, Britney’s mom Lynne Spears recently filed documents in the conservatorship asking to be informed about the singer’s finances.
