American singer Tina Turner's son, Ronnie, recently passed away at the age of 62.

The Queen of Rock 'n' Roll lost her son last week under mysterious circumstances and took to social media to express her grief and sadness. The cause of his death at the time was unknown, but according to new reports, the singer's son suffered complications from cancer.

Ronnie was reportedly confirmed dead by paramedics after a person called 911, saying that he was struggling to breathe.

The cause of Ronnie's death has been revealed aa week after his unfortunate passing. The actor died at the age of 62, with the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll expressing her grief via her Instagram handle.

According to a report by Page Six, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's office revealed that Ronnie died due to colon cancer "complications."

He also suffered from an atherosclerotic cardiovascular illness, which is an accumulation of cholesterol plaque in the walls of arteries, restricting blood flow. The way he died was reported as natural.

Tina Turner Mourned Her Son's Passing

After her son's death last week, the "What's Love Got To Do With It" crooner took to social media to mourn and express her grief.

Tina, 83, shared a black and white photo of herself with her eyes closed on her Instagram page and captioned it, "Ronnie, you left the world far too early. In sorrow, I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son."

Ronnie starred in the 1993 video for "What's Love Got To Do With It," which was based on the true story of his mother. Along with his acting and music careers, he worked as a real estate broker in Los Angeles, California, before he passed.

He was born in October 1960 to Tina and her ex-husband, Ike Turner.

Ronnie Turner's Relationship With Wife Afida

The late Ronnie got married to french media personality, Afida in 2007. According to Radar Online, Afida had a strained relationship with her late husband's mother, Tina, after she accused her of not assisting her son financially in his time of need.

The French singer had earlier hinted on social media that cancer was the cause of his death, while she lauded him as an "amazing soul" and a "true angel."

"Very very very bad Ronnie got sick in 3 weeks f**k cancer," she added. She revealed that Ronnie battled cancer for three weeks in her tribute to him and also talked about how furious she was at the sad situation.

"I did the best to the end this time I was not able to save you. Love you for these 17 years this is very very very bad and I am very mad. This is a tragedy u with your brother Craig and your father Ike Turner and Aline rest in paradise… So unfair." She said in her post.

Although married for a long time, Ronnie and Afida had no children.

The Grammy Award-winning singer had suffered similar circumstances of losing a child when her firstborn son, Craig, committed suicide in 2018.

Craig died by inflicting fatal gunshot wounds on himself and was confirmed dead at his California residence at the age of 59. 

Tina had her eldest son when she was only 18 and shared him with Raymond Hill, who was a saxophone player. Craig was eventually adopted by Tina's ex-husband, Ike. In an interview with Gayle King on CBS News, the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll revealed that she believed Craig committed suicide because he was lonely.

She said, "I think Craig was lonely, that's what I think really got him more than anything else," noting that she had images of him grinning and felt he was finally in a happy place.
