Actor Kit Harington recently shed light on his relationship with co-star Emilia Clarke and how the duo has grown close over the years. They were part of the lead cast of "Game of Thrones," which started airing in April 2011 and, after 73 episodes, came to a close in May 2019.

Clarke played the lauded Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen of the House of Targaryen, while Harington was Jon Snow, the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. Although the duo were allies and then lovers in the series, in the last season, Daenerys met her end at the hands of Snow.

While talking about his relationship with his "Game of Thrones" cast members, Harington revealed that he became really good friends with Clarke after the series concluded.

Kit Harington Has A Bond With 'Game Of Thrones' Cast

Cast of Game of Thrones arrives for the HBO Emmy party

Harington appeared in his first public panel since 2019, when "Game of Thrones" concluded. During the panel at a HBO fan convention, the actor was asked if he still speaks to or is close with any of his other co-stars. Harington explained that, much like leaving school, there is still a bond between him and the rest of the cast members.

"It's a bit like leaving school, right? You have this tight bond of people over this one thing, and then it ends," the actor said via Insider. "There's a deep sadness in that because you know you're not gonna be in that group of people having that shared experience again. The magic from it's gone, and you have to let it go."

Harrington explained that as actors, this is a regular occurrence for them because they constantly have to move from one job and one crew to the other. "But you do hold on to relationships, and some of those relationships can be unexpected," he added.

Harington and Clarke worked together on "Game of Thrones" as Daenerys and Snow. They were part of the lead characters in the HBO hit series and one of the few that actually made it to the last season, although Clarke's character was murdered and by Harington's no less.

Still, on the topic of his friends on the cast, the actor revealed that he was not particularly close to Clarke while filming "Game of Thrones," but since the series came to a close, they have become good friends. He said, "I don't think me and Emilia were that close during the show because we were always separate."

Harington continued, per Insider, "But now, since the show's ended, we've become very close. Emilia's very good friends with Rose, and she lives down the road, so she's over all the time and playing with my kid. We're really close, me and Clarke."

Harington talked about Ben Proctor, who played Dolorous Edd in the HBO series, and described him as one of his "favorite people in the world." The actor also revealed that he had recently been in touch with Liam Cunningham (Davos), Kristofer Hivju (Tormund), and John Bradley West (Sam).

"Game of Thrones" didn't just give Harington new friends; the actor also met his wife on the set of the series. Rose Leslie, who played Ygritte, Snow's love interest, was killed off in season four. The actress continued seeing Harington after her time on set ended and married in 2018.

The wedding was held in Scotland and had several "Game of Thrones" characters in attendance, Clarke included. The couple welcomed their first child in 2018.

'Game Of Thrones' Might Have A Jon Snow Sequel

According to recent reports, a sequel for "Game of Thrones" might be in the works. A story concerning this was published earlier by James Hibberd for The Hollywood Reporter, and while Harington did not acknowledge it during the Los Angeles panel, George R.R. Martin confirmed the news.

The "A Song of Ice and Fire" author released a blog post in June this year where he revealed that the published report was "largely correct" and the sequel was actually in development. "Yes, there is a Jon Snow show in development. The Hollywood Reporter story was largely correct. And I would expect no less from James Hibberd," he wrote.

Martin disclosed that "Snow" is the working title for the show; however, there is not much more on the topic that could be said without HBO's approval. "I cannot tell you the names of the writers/showrunners since that has not been cleared for release yet," the author shared.

"But Kit brought them in too, his own team, and they are terrific."
