Emily Ratajkowski Has ‘Abandonment’ Issues
The 31-year-old model revealed on her Podcast High Low With Em Rata this week that she has been in therapy for quite some time to deal with issues surrounding abandonment. “I’ve been in therapy for quite a long time,” she says confidently on her podcast. She also shared that she has been tested for “anxious preoccupied” attachment at the start of her treatment.
She went on to explain what that is; “It means you really don’t want to be alone. You typically have negative self-image (and a) positive views of others.” The condition according to Em Rata people also “seek approval, support, responsiveness from their partner. You’re always turning to your parent for more reassurance.”
Therapy Is A Staple For Em Rata
The actress stressed how important the self-care method has been to her overall mental health. “For me, it was really in therapy where I learned to be independent and get to the root of my fear of abandonment.”
The mom of one also pointed out that because of her abandonment issues some of her therapy focuses on a healthy relationship with her 21-month-old son, Sylvester. She is developing a ‘secure’ attachment to her baby boy.
While Emily is busy working on her abandonment issues, she is dating around and is mostly in control of the outcomes and having fun with the single life. Her latest conquest is comedian Pete Davidson and we would like to kindly remind her… he isn’t the most stable.

The list could go on and most recently before he was seen canoodling with Ratajkowski, the actor was in a very public relationship with Kim Kardashian. Fans have been in Em Rata’s comments warning her of his fleeting demeanor.
Now that she has revealed that she suffers from abandonment issues we can only imagine her dedicated followers will be calling out the comedian on a deeper level.
Emily Ratajkowski Is Open About Her Dating Life
The actress covered Harper’s Bazaar in October where she spoke honestly about her dating life after her divorce from film producer Sebastian Bear McClard. “I wasn’t very good at deciding what I liked,” admits the model.
“So now it’s really fun to go to dinner with someone and be like, ‘Cool. I really enjoyed these parts of them. I really didn’t like these other parts.’”
She told People magazine that she finally feels free. “It’s so nice, honestly. I don’t owe anything to anybody – other than my son, that’s the only man.”
