Naya Rivera and the father of her 4-year-old son, Ryan Dorsey, had just agreed to permanent joint custody -- including summer vacations -- in the months leading up to her disappearance.
According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Naya and Ryan had stipulated to an agreement to share joint physical custody of their 4-year-old son, after having several issues in their past.
In the filing, on March 26, 2020, the ex-couple agreed to split time with their son which included holidays and summer vacation.
As we reported, Naya is presumed dead after her son was found floating by himself in a rented boat on Lake Piru.

According to the filing, the parties agreed to "an equal timeshare to be mutually agreed upon by the parties consistent with the schedules of each party and the minor child...The parties shall also equally divide all holidays, vacation time, pupil-free days, and summer vacation. The Parties shall meet and confer to determine the holiday schedule. The court reserves jurisdiction in the event of a dispute."
The new agreement comes after the couple struggled in their relationship, including divorcing on two different occasions and Naya being arrested for assaulting Dorsey.
At the time, Naya was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery after an altercation with her ex-husband where she allegedly struck him in the head while out on a walk with their child.
The incident took place in Chesapeake, West Virgina after Dorsey told the cops she hit him in the head and the lip while out on a walk with their then 2-year old son. Cops told us the incident stemmed from an argument over their kid.
Ryan gave officers a cellphone video of the alleged violence which showed Rivera attacking him. After viewing the video, and his injuries officers arrested the actress.

In 2019, the couple agreed to share joint legal and physical custody of their son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, and Ryan agreed to consult with Naya on "on all major decisions related to the child's health, education, and welfare."
At the time, our sources said the agreement is temporary, but the estranged couple was working out a schedule to be permanent.
Unfortunately, after agreeing to the longterm joint custody, Naya is being presumed dead after possibly drowning in a like near Los Angeles. According to reports, Josey was found floating in the boat and said his mom went for a swim but never returned.
The 'Glee' star's Mercedes G-Wagon was found still in the parking lot near the lake.
The Ventura County Sheriff's Department continues the search for Rivera and says they have over 80 personal including divers combing the area for the actress.
