Shakira Accused Of Putting A 'Curse' On Spain's Soccer Team

The merriest time of year is now, but somehow, someway, the spookiness of Halloween continues to linger.

This time in the form of Shakira.

The Colombian singer is being blamed for Spain’s elimination from the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Just hold on, it gets crazier.

Last week, Spain’s national team lost to Morocco in a shocking upset.

The game went into overtime, with both teams standing at 0-0. The soccer match ended in penalty kicks with Morocco coming out victorious. The final score was 3-0.

As you can imagine, Spaniards were in complete and utter shock over the loss.

Following the loss, Spain’s head coach Luis Enrique left his position and was replaced by Luis de la Fuente for a change of direction.

Now, here’s where Shakira somehow gets sucked into the story.

A tarot reader named Mhoni Vidente spoke about Spain’s loss and subsequent elimination from the World Cup. The tarot reader blamed Shakira for the upset and claimed the singer “put a curse” on the soccer team following her separation from Gerard Piqué.

Mind you, Piqué did NOT play in this year’s World Cup games and recently retired from FC Barcelona.

“The one that worked completely was Shakira's curse, a curse that she put on the Spanish team," Videntestated on her television show.

What’s even crazier (if you can imagine) is that Vidente alleged that Shakira paid her to put a curse on the team.

“Shakira, the ritual you paid me for worked so that they would not do well," the tarot reader continued.

Vidente is a clairvoyant who made several predictions about which teams would go far in the World Cup and possibly claim the title of “2022 World Cup Champions.”

To date, most of her predictions have been correct.

According to Marca, Vidente said that the Mexican national team would be eliminated in the group phase and it came true, and she also spoke of Tata Martino's departure, which also came true.

Vidente claimed Shakira’s new partner would be Colombian, live in Miami and be a sportsman.

Rumors recently swirled that Shakira was dating her 24-year-old surf instructor, Gorka Ezkurdia.

However, the singer issued a public statement in which she vehemently denied the rumors.

"Out of respect for my children and the vulnerable moment they are going through, I ask the media to stop the speculation," she addressed the media. "I have no partner and nothing other than devoting myself entirely to my children and their welfare."

Shakira’s ex quickly moved on with his much younger girlfriend and Kosmos employee, Clara Chia Martí.

Piqué and Shakira share two children together, Milan (9) and Sasha (7).

The fútbol player reportedly cheated on Shakira throughout their nearly 12-year relationship with multiple women.

She reportedly caught him in the act with an unidentified woman and called it quits this summer.

Shakira has remained rather modest about revealing any personal information surrounding their breakup; however, she did slightly dish on her romantic and legal situation to Elle magazine.

The country of Spain is after Shakira and her money, because they believe she skipped out on paying millions to the country.

If Shakira’s found guilty, she could face up to eight years behind bars.

It’s alleged that she skipped out on paying $14.7 million in taxes when she lived in Spain between 2012 to 2014. Shakira claims she did not live in Spain during this period of time.

During this time period, Shakira’s main residence was in the Bahamas, but prosecutors say she lived a majority of the time in Spain.

She was splitting her time between the Bahamas and Barcelona due to her former relationship with Piqué, and his career with FC Barcelona.

Shakira admitted to ELLE that she has endured the “darkest hours” of her life amid the Spanish government’s accusations.

“I’ve paid everything they claimed I owed, even before they filed a lawsuit,” she said. “So as of today, I owe zero to them. And finally, I was advised by one of the four biggest tax specialist firms in the world, PricewaterhouseCoopers, so I was confident that I was doing things correctly and transparently from day one.”

Shakira calls the Spanish government’s claims “false accusations,” and she plans to fight the case as a “matter of principle.”
