Before the divorce announcement, Collette shared a cryptic post on her Instagram stories talking about achieving better for one's self regardless of the circumstances. She wrote per Page Six, "No matter what your current circumstances are, if you can imagine something better for yourself, you can create it."
A day ago, Galafassi was spotted showing off some serious PDA with another woman, later identified as 41-year-old Shannon Egan. She is reportedly an "'integrative chiropractor" and has over 15 years of clinical experience.
Per the pictures posted by Daily Mail, the couple was together on a Sydney beach, heavily making out, holding hands, and in deep conversation. They extended their lovey-dovey session from the beach's waters to land while towering themselves dry. An eyewitness described them as being "all over each other" during their time out.
Toni Collette And Dave Galafassi Got Married In 2003
The former couple initially met each other in 2002 at a party to celebrate the debut single of Galafassi's Aussie rock band Gelbison, "Metal Detector." While speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald in 2014, the actress revealed that she attended another party after the first, and "he was the first person I saw … and I just kind of melted."
They formed a band of their own, Toni Collette & the Finish, where she was the lead singer, and Galafassi carried on his drumming duties. They released an 11-track album, "Beautiful Awkward Pictures," in 2006, which featured Collette's vocals and her songwriting skills.
The actress seemed even more in love with Galafassi in 2019 during her interview with Now to Love. While promoting her movie "Wanderlust," Collette said, "My husband is such a good person. He's so patient. He's amazing with our kids, and he's so loving, caring, and supportive. He puts everybody else first. I'm the luckiest woman, I really am."
Tonie Collette Didn't Want An Open Marriage
In the same interview in 2019, Collette revealed that she had talked to her husband, Galafassi, on the themes of "Wanderlust," one of which was infidelity. The actress said she had no intention of ever entertaining an open relationship in her marriage. She also disclosed that her husband loved her performance in the film.
"This [having an open relationship] isn't something I would ever entertain in my own marriage, "Collett said. "But my husband has seen the entire show, and his one comment was that even though it was a little confronting at times, he was adamant it was the best work I've ever done, which I found so moving."
The actress previously left Instagram but reactivated it just last week to commemorate her birthday. In her first post in a while, Collett shared a picture of herself with a cup that had "Happy Birthday" inscribed on it. She captioned it, "I'm back. Hello, world. I love you."
