Kirk Cameron Turned Away From Public Libraries With Faith-Based Book

Kirk Cameron wrote another children’s book but this time, public libraries have zero intention of allowing him to promote it on their properties.
Kirk Cameron Receiving Backlash
The actor-turned-minister wrote a new children's book that celebrates family, his faith, and biblical wisdom. But all that positivity was overshadowed when Cameron was told that he was not welcome to read to children at the local libraries.
It’s alleged that the 50 public libraries have either not responded or straight up rejected the author’s request to read to local children. Some of the libraries that did respond offered reasons varying from Cameron’s personal point of view to his alignment politically.
“We are a very queer-friendly library. Our messaging does not align,” said a librarian at the Rochambeau Public Library in Providence, Rhode Island.
Kirk Cameron’s Sister Candance Cameron Bure Is Being Blamed
When the news hit, many people began to blame his famous sister Candace Cameron Bure. The actress recently came under fire for her comments when leaving the Hallmark Channel for the Great American Family channel.
She boasted about wanting to work with the new channel because it aligned with her “traditional marriage” values. She received backlash from celebrities like JoJo Siwa and Hillarie Burton. They slammed her for promoting dangerous rhetoric.
Fans also came for the actress fed up with her pushing her Christian narrative and then allegedly judging people who do not fall in line. The moment wasn’t so long ago so perhaps some of the backlashes has fallen onto her big brother.
Fans Believe Kirk Cameron Is Cringey Enough
While they would love to blame the actress for her brother’s downfall, the Twitterverse is making it clear that Kirk is completely cringe on his own accord.
“Kirk Cameron wasn't denied story time at libraries because he's a Christian, it's because he's a dangerous right-wing bigot. He's a bigger threat to your children than a drag queen reading a story. Get your heads out of your asses for once,” insisted one follower of the trending topic.
“Kirk Cameron is a right wing extremist and has no business being around children,” followed up another person.
“As someone who was a public library manager, we have zero obligation to allow anyone to do a program. He has money. He can rent out a space to spread his hate. Sheesh. What an ass.”
Kirk Cameron Has Plenty Of Supporters
Don’t worry, the 52-year-old wasn’t being bullied online. In fact, he had plenty of support to counteract the slamming he was receiving from those who agree he has no business influencing children.
“Kirk Cameron has written a children's book promoting faith, family, & biblical wisdom. Public libraries will not allow him to promote it in person with story time slots. These same libraries are giving those time slots to "Drag Queen" story time instead. We live in crazy times,” wrote one follower who would allow him to read and influence his kids.
“Just saw on news that Christian Kirk Cameron has been denied story hour at over 50 libraries. Yet many of these libraries allow drag queen story hour. It is officially ok to be anti-Christian but not anti anything else. This world is lost. 😐”
“Being anti-Kirk Cameron is not the same as being anti-Christian.”
Kirk Cameron Is Played Out
the consensus regarding public libraries is that they are looking for diversity in their public spaces and unfortunately, Kirk doesn’t fall in that category. "We have a strategic plan in place, so we are really looking at authors who are diverse. Authors of color."
Kirk's publisher Brave Books shared that they were met with resistance and instead other events took precedence. The San Lorenzo Library hosted a "get free help" clinic for those who cannot afford legal help.
Much of the legal help is geared toward people who are interested in changing their name and gender. "Completing name and gender marker change court paperwork and updating identity documents such as CA birth certificates, driver’s licenses/ IDs, passports, and Social Security cards," was the priority.
Do you see how none of this aligns with Kirk’s mission?
