Amazon Prime's 'Daisy Jones & The Six' TV Series Receives Air Date!

"Daisy Jones & The Six," the massively popular 2019 novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, will be coming to the small screen sooner than readers might expect!

News of the BookTok sensation's television adaptation broke earlier this year, after actress Reese Witherspoon's production company, Hello Sunshine, acquired the rights to adapt the novel into a series.

The official premiere date for the 10-episode Amazon Prime series was announced on Tuesday via the release of a 17-second clip from the streaming service.

Earlier this year The Blast shared some tidbits surrounding Amazon Prime's adaptation of the series, and news of another extremely popular novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid also receiving the page-to-screen treatment!

According to our report, Netflix has become the official streaming source for the film adaptation of Jenkins Reid's 2017 novel and massive BookTok success story, "The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo."

Evelyn and her many loves almost received the same treatment as "Daisy Jones & The Six"; there had previously been plans for the novel to be a Freeform TV series. "The L Word''s Jennifer Beals and Illene Chaiken were in talks to be at the helm of the series, according to The Hollywood Reporter per our report.

Reese Witherspoon wasn't the only creative excited by the idea of "Daisy Jones & The Six" becoming a television series!

According to a Vanity Fair profile about the TV show, the executive producers of the series were extremely on board from the beginning. Scott Neustadter received "a prepublication manuscript of the book back in 2017," and it inspired quite a reaction!

"I flipped for it, and really just sort of fell in love with the whole thing," Neustadter told the publication. "Transporting to the 1970's Laurel Canyon music scene was, like, the greatest gift I could imagine."

Along with the series second executive producer (who also happens to be Neustadter's wife), Lauren Levy Neustadter, and Michael H. Weber, Neustadter was inspired to capture a similar feeling on screen akin to his first imporesssion reading the manuscript.

He and Webster were game to "[figure] out how to make the experience of watching it the same as we had when we read it."

After the casting for Daisy and her crew was finalized, the production team had to do their best to work around an extremely unanticipated hurdle: the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The production would quickly adjust to adapt to conducting most business virtually; it would be a year-and-a-half before the cast would be able to interact in person again!

Sam Claflin, who plays 'the Lindsey' to Daisy's 'Stevie,' Billy Dunne, took Vanity Fair into the production's atmosphere, saying, "We had all just got to LA and we all had our first sort of get- together, we went out to dinner and then we all went home and disappeared for like a year and a half. It was quite frustrating."

However, Claflin would quickly reveal the bright side of the uninvited hiatus!

"By the time we got back out to Los Angeles in June of last year, I think we were all so pumped and excited to see one another- and we'd all improved so massively musically- that we then immediately just sort of gelled as a band."

Riley Keough will bring the story's heroine to life, with Camila Morrone playing Billy Dunne's wife Camila. Suki Waterhouse, Sebastian Chacon, Josh Whitehouse and Will Harrison will round out the band. Timothy Olyphant, Tom Wright, and Nabiyah Be will play important figures in the Six's inner-circle.

Over two years since COVID-19 halted the production for "Daisy Jones & The Six" for a bit, the series is of course completed and ready to go!

Viewers will finally be able to stream the series' ten episodes in the spring of 2023, on March 3rd!

Keough, who is Elvis Presley's granddaughter, summed up her excitement for the series by giving Vanity Fair some insight into the igredient that made the production special.

"I think that when you love each other the way that we do, it comes across onscreen, you know?" she said. "That's what I'm excited for people to see because that is authentic, you know? It was a joyous experience. And it was something that I really needed in my life at that time. I wanted to make something that made me feel joy."
