Lala Kent's fiance, Randall Emmett, appeared on an episode of the "Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef" podcast earlier this week and while chatting with the show's host, the movie producer and director opened up about his "Vanderpump Rules" cast mates and the time he spent on the show.
Just over a year after Randall officially joined the cast for the first time, he opened up about the co-stars he's gotten to know over the past few years leading up to his Bravo debut.
"Jax Taylor, you know, he's 40. So I mean… [he’s] nine years younger. But I act like I'm 12. So there you go. It all works out," Randall joked on the show.
While Randall didn't want to be a part of the show for years due to his busy career in the world of making movies, he ultimately decided it was the best thing and found that it was easy for him to mend with the group since he was already friends with so many of them.
"I don't know. I was friends with [Jax], [and] those people. And because I knew them for years at [the] point when I went on, it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be," he admitted.
That said, Randall noted that being a reality star was "overwhelming at first."
"To have four cameras and a microphone, and them telling you, ‘Okay, you know, we didn't hear that. Can you say it one more [time]?’" Randall recalled of the challenges of the show.
“I get caught up… it's almost like I'm watching TV. And I'm like checked out because I'm just like, ‘I should be at home on a couch watching this,'" Randall joked. "And then they turn to me all of a sudden in the middle. And I'm like, ‘What?’ [It was] very hard for me at first."
"You're like, ‘Wait a second. I'm actually in the show now.’ It was very overwhelming for me. I think that's why I had to order a double chicken sandwich that [first] day," he laughed.
According to Randall, he's quite impressed with the way in which the cast has made a name for themselves on the show and established other businesses as well.
"Stassi Schroeder and Lala, when I look at everything [they’ve] done, it's really amazing. These empires that these people have built for themselves. I mean, Lala is pursuing the acting thing seriously. Then she's got all the other outlets where she could create and generate revenue. I told her at 29, I mean, I wish I made a third of what she makes and same with all those cast members. I didn't even realize," he said.
"Vanderpump Rules" season nine will likely air sometime next year.
