Lala Kent's movie producer fiance, Randall Emmett, appeared on Wednesday's episode of the "Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef" podcast and during the show, he explained his reasoning behind joining the cast of "Vanderpump Rules" after refusing to do so for years.

Speaking to David, Randall said that while he was initially against the idea of being featured on the Bravo reality series, he ultimately came to the conclusion that when it came to Lala's role on the show, he was an important part of her story.

According to Randall, he learned from Lisa Vanderpump that Lala needed him to appear alongside her on the show and noted that it wasn't fair to the other "Vanderpump Rules" cast members to allow Lala to leave out such a key detail of her story.

"Lala needs this and deserves this to show that side of her life. It's not fair to her that you're such a big part of her life," Randall was reportedly told.

Because Randall agreed that his appearance on the series was very important for Lala, he ultimately agreed to sign on.

"This is why it was really kind of happening and because Lisa loves Lala. And I love Lisa and I really look at Lisa as kind of a confidant," Randall explained.

Randall went on to say that throughout his first few months on "Vanderpump Rules," Lisa was quite supportive of him and felt that the producers of the series were also quite understanding of how he felt when it came to filming and his already busy schedule with his movie career.

"And she, she was very supportive and like, you know, 'You should do this.' And to be honest, the producers, I mean, Alex Baskin and Bill and those, and Jenna, they all handled me with kid gloves," Randall admitted.

Because he was quite "overwhelmed" with the process of filming a reality show, it was helpful that Randall shared a "mutual respect" with the producers.

"I think we had a mutual respect, the producers [and I] when it [came] to when I went on, when it's okay for me to come, plus by schedule was crazy," he explained.

Throughout the months of filming on season eight of "Vanderpump Rules," Randall was busy but made sure to attend the biggest events of the season.

"I was traveling a lot. So I think we were like, okay, you know, obviously Jax’s wedding and, um, Tom's second wedding and, you know, Stassi and Beau getting engaged, all the things [and] the final night," he recalled.

The cast of "Vanderpump Rules" is expected to reunite with one another for filming on season eight in the coming weeks.
