After having her first child about a month ago, Chanel West Coast is adjusting to her postpartum body. She wants to help inspire other new first-time moms who don't feel great about their changing bodies. In a recent interview with E News, Chanel opens up about how all the changes have made her feel.
Chanel West Coast Has A New Appreciation For Her Postpartum Body
The "Ridiculousness" co-host, 34, reflected on the struggles she's faced after having an emergency C-section. "I had to have a C-section, which was not something that I had any idea would have to happen. I have a scar now that's not something I really wanted," she said. "I've always had a pretty flat stomach and my stomach is taking a lot longer to go down."
Chanel explained that all the changes her body has been going through have shifted her idea of her body image. "It's a little bit of a struggle because it's not the exact body I'm used to before being pregnant," she said. "It's funny because I'll go and look back at pictures from when I was really skinny and I can't believe I ever thought with that body that I was fat."
Chanel West Coast Hopes Her Story Helps Inspires Other New Moms
By sharing her story openly, Chanel hopes to help other new moms who are feeling the same way. The singer also has plans to spread her message through her swimwear line, Coasty Swim. While in Miami to celebrate 2023's arrival, she plans to model some of her bikinis to celebrate her new body.
"My body's not going to be where I wanted it to be and that's okay. I'm fully ready to take pictures in the bikinis with whatever body I have at the time and feel confident in it," she explained. "If the more low-cut bikinis happen to show my scar, that's fine. It's the scar from giving birth to my child. It is something that I'm excited to show the world that you can model a bikini in any body even right after giving birth."
Chanel said her appreciation for her body increased after having her daughter, Bowie Breeze, now one-month. "I had a great body and I think that after being pregnant, you appreciate your body so much more. You realize that this body just made a human and I'm just happy that she came out healthy and happy," she said. "I don't think that any scar matters when you have this beautiful little child to look at every day."
Chanel West Coast Shares Photos Of Bowie Breeze On Social Media
Chanel and boyfriend Dom Fenison brought little Bowie to meet Santa for the first time recently and shared the experience on social media with her fans and followers.
The designer announced her daughter's arrival on Instagram and gave a one-week update on her new journey in motherhood. "Bowie Breeze Fenison born 11-2-22 @ 10:22am 🎀 I’m officially a mommy and she is 1 week old today! I ended up needing to have a c section to deliver her and it was so scary but it was also the best day of my life. I’m so happy my baby girl came out healthy and happy," her caption began.
"She is truly the chillest baby ever and I feel so blessed. I have never felt more love in my heart. She is my whole world now and I feel so complete with her and her daddy by my side. I can’t explain how amazing giving birth to a little human is but it’s the most fulfilling and rewarding experience I’ve ever had. I’ve def lost some sleep already lol but I would stay awake til I die for this little one. She is absolutely perfect to me, and her Daddy and I both are infatuated with her."
