Joe Rogan Slams Viral Celebrity Black Lives Matter Video, Says They Look 'Dumb'

Famed podcast host and media personality Joe Rogan has been known to have some very strong and often controversial opinions on many poignant subjects​ and is never one to shy away from an opportunity to speak his mind. The latest iteration of his show had him taking some time to address a recent viral video composed of celebrities attempting to recognize and rectify their "white privilege," something that Rogan is calling "dumb" and lacking substance from the bigger picture goal.

The viral "I Take Responsibility" campaign video, consisting of Sarah Paulson, Aaron Paul, Kesha, Justin Theroux, Debra Messing, Bryce Dallas Howard and other stars has taken some flack from fans and other celebrities alike since being released, drawing many comparisons to the famed ill-timed celebrity singing video amidst the most intense part of the coronavirus pandemic. Rogan decided to address the video during his podcast, saying that celebrities are too "wrapped up in progressive ideology" to ever be able to change their minds at all.

"You f** morons… You’re taking responsibility? No, you’re trying to get attention. That’s what you’re doing," the host said candidly. "If they ever feel like doing that again, call me, I’ll tell you how it’s gonna turn out."

Rogan then went on to detail exactly what the celebrities were attempting to accomplish by sharing the video, which was to gain clout. but then explained how it came off as clearly that and had little to no relation to its goal of raising awareness for a just cause.

"This latest thing where all these actors have this black and white video where they're talking about racism…. What are you doing? You know what that is? These motherf** haven’t gotten any attention for months because they haven’t filmed," Rogan said of the stars that took part in the video, accusing them of wanting attention after months of being out of the spotlight thanks to global quarantine measures and a bevy of other factors that brought the world to a halt.

"Going for a jog should not be a death sentence. Sleeping in your own home should not be a death sentence. Playing video games with your nephew should not be a death sentence. Shopping in a store should not be a death sentence. Business as usual should not be life-threatening," the celebrity-packed video saw the stars reading out one by one in an attempt to convey their message of solidarity with the African American community, something Rogan did not take well at all.
