Have Britney Spears and Jamie Lynn Spears Finally Made Up?

On Friday, December 2, singer Britney Spears celebrated her 41st birthday. Although her estranged younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, did not wish her older sister a happy birthday on social media, it seems the two might have made up from their public feud earlier this year.

On Friday, the "Hold Me Closer" singer shared plenty of throwback photos and videos, including two of her younger sister, who she called "so brave" and "inspiring." The post was very different from her posts earlier this year, when she frequently referred to her sister as "scum."

In an Instagram post shared on her own birthday, the "Lucky" singer seemed to praise Jamie Lynn's appearance in the upcoming Fox reality show "Special Forces: The Ultimate Test." The show features sixteen celebrities that will have to survive grueling special forces training exercises out in the desert, run by real ex-special force operatives.

“It’s my b-day but you’re my heart so I’m thinking about you … congratulations on being so brave, inspiring, and showing guts and glory in your show ? !!!” Britney wrote alongside two photos of her sister. “You ain’t alone … if anybody knows what that feels like … I get it ??? My baby sister !!! I love you !!!”

Although some fans felt that Britney's comment was sarcastic, others weren't so sure. “I rushed to the comments to make sure I wasn’t alone in my confusion…” one fan admitted. “Britney you’ve been hacked!!!” another follower chimed in. “I feel like I skipped a season,” a third fan agreed. Other fans felt that the caption was proof that Britney was not actually in charge of her account.

“LMAO. now I KNOW for a fact this ain’t Britney posting. Whoever is controlling this account is doing a really bad job lol,” one follower commented. “OK I think this just proves that this isn't Britney posting...” another fan agreed. Even reality star Kaitlyn Bristowe wrote, “Ok well now we know who’s running her account. Cough Jamie cough.”

Although their relationship was strained due to Britney's 13-year conservatorship, things seemed to take a turn for the worse in January, after the "Zoey 101" star released her memoir, "Things I Should Have Said." Britney called out the "lies" in Jamie Lynn's book and has since gone on to write her own memoir, although the release date has yet to be announced.

At the end of January, the "Oops!...I Did It Again" took to Instagram to call out her sister, although the post was taken down within a day. “National best seller ???? DUH …. the timing of your book was unbelievable Jamie Lynn … especially knowing the whole world had no clue what was really done to me !!!!” Britney began, referring to her conservatorship ending a few short months before the memoir's release.

“My whole family including you is saying YOU DIDN’T KNOW …. Bulls--- !!!” Britney went on. “I wish you would take a lie detector test so all these masses of people see you’re lying through your teeth about me !!!!”

“I wish the almighty, Lord would could come down and show this whole world that you’re lying and making money off of me !!!!" Britney added. "You are scum, Jamie Lynn.”

In yet another post, Britney said that her sister "stooped to a whole new level of LOW" by allegedly making up an incident that involved a knife. “I’ve never been around you ever with a knife or would I ever even think to do such !!!” Britney wrote.

“The only knife I ever saw you with at home was cutting the biggest pieces of squash I ever saw in my life and it was too big for me to cut,” she continued. “So please please stop with these crazy lies for the Hollywood books !!!”

It seems that the two might have made up in the months since the post was made, but their relationship is still confusing to fans. It's worth noting that Jamie Lynn doesn't seem to have responded to her sister on social media. It's possible that the post was just as confusing to her as it was to fans!
