Recording artist, Ashanti is reminiscing about the time a music producer demanded they "shower" together as payment for helping her produce some tracks.
The singer discussed the incident during her appearance on "The Breakfast Club," explaining that the lewd producer had told her his services were for free, then later switched to a request for financial payment or intimacy.
In a previous interview, she discussed the same incident, revealing at the time that she later got the records for free after she called in some help. She also took to Instagram last month to commemorate Domestic Violence Awareness month.

'I Thought He Was Joking'
During her appearance on "The Breakfast Club," Ashanti discussed an encounter with a producer who wanted her to pay in kind after he had promised to help produce her tracks for free.
"I've been in a crazy situation with one producer," the "Rain On Me" crooner recalled, although she withheld the name of the individual, per New York Post. "We did two records together. He was like 'OK, I'm not going to charge you. You're my homie.'"
The 42-year-old music star then shockingly revealed that the individual insisted that she pay $40,000 per song or get intimate with him before he would release the tracks to her.
"Then when it came time to put it on the album, he was like, 'Let's take a shower together.' I thought he was joking," she added. "He was like, 'Nah, I'm dead serious. Let's go out, let's take a shower together, and then I'll give you the records. If not, I need 40 racks per record.'"
Ashanti Said The Request 'Was Wild'
Ashanti shared that the sudden change in the agreement took her aback as she wasn't expecting such a request from him. Seeing he was dead serious, she contacted her people, who then got to work fixing the situation.
"I thought he was joking, because we had been working together for a couple weeks. But it turns out that he was serious. I had to make some phone calls, and stuff was handled," Ashanti said before adding, "It was wild."
Clearing any doubts about the veracity of her claims, Ashanti's mom, Tina Douglas, who has managed her entire career, confirmed the crazy story during the interview on the daytime show.
Elsewhere in the interview, Ashanti hinted at properly exposing the lewd producer in her upcoming memoir.
Ashanti Got The Tracks For Free
Ashanti first opened up about the incident in 2018, in the wake of the #MeToo Movement that led to many women and men opening up about power disparities, sexism, and sexual harassment, as well as assault in the entertainment world.
At the time, the "Foolish" singer shared on SiriusXM's Conversations with Maria Menounos how the matter was settled, explaining that she called in "reinforcements" in the form of her "really cool, scary big brothers." They ultimately engaged with the producer and got the two records and an extra one for no charges,
On why she chose to open up about the incident, Ashanti told Menounos, per People, "I feel like just for a woman, I had to come out and just say my piece."
She added, "At some point, you have just to speak up. And that's what I did.
Ashanti On Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Ashanti recently took to Instagram to celebrate Domestic Violence Awareness month in a sober way. The singer has previously been open about the domestic abuse her sister Kenashia "Shia" Douglas faced at the hands of her ex-fiancé, Windsor "Slow" Lubin.
"Words will never be able to express the amount of pain, fury, and disgust I feel reliving these moments… but at the same time, I am so proud of how strong, courageous, resilient, and unbreakable you are. My sister is a warrior! I love you deep and infinitely," Ashanti wrote on Instagram.
She added, "Thank you for being so brave and bringing awareness to this evil, vile and sad behavior that so many women face every day. You did it! You won! Some women feel so scared that they have no way out… by sharing your story, you bring hope, strength [and] continue to raise awareness for Domestic Violence."
