"The last time you were here, we both were single. You weren't dating. Are you dating now?," Barrymore asked Goldberg, before adding, "I am. Because it had been so many years, I started to get a little worried, like I'm too good at being alone."

Barrymore then asked Goldberg, 67, if she would consider dating again and "The View" co-host said, "For good, no." She then shared some dating advice for Barrymore. "Maybe a hit-and-run is a better way to go, for now, until you say to yourself, 'Now I really want someone to just be part of this,'" she explained. "Right now, that may not be what you're looking for, which is probably why you're doing fine."

Barrymore, mom to daughters Olive, 10, and Frankie, 8, has gone on some dates over the past few years, but wasn't ready for anything more at that point. During an interview with "Queer Eye's" Bobby Berk on her show earlier this year, she emotionally explained that she's "not there yet." "I have two young girls and, like, I don't want to bring people home," she said. "I think it would take me a very long time to meet someone and get to know them before I could even ever introduce them to my daughters."

She's one of us! Like many single people looking for love and decide to hop on a dating app or two, Barrymore admitted she's been on and off the apps. Last November, she told broadcast journalist Gayle King that it's "so hard on dating apps."

"I feel like I'm always swiping left because they are too young [or] I don't know who they are," she said. "I dip in and out. Every once in a while, and then I, like, freak out and jump off."

The "50 First Dates" star has openly discussed the use of dating apps and the frustrations associated with them on many occasions. Last December she answered an audience member's question on her show about "stalking or creeping" on social media when it came to men she was interested in dating and she explained her luck with online dating hasn't been so great.

"I will tell you this and don't feel sorry for me cause it is just what happens to all us women out there. No on has connected with me," she explained. "It makes me feel like such a loser and then you are like 'it is hard out there.' It is hard out there for everybody. It is hard in person. It is hard on dating apps. It is vulnerable, but you keep trying."

In one of Barrymore's recent blog posts, "Rebels Who Love," reflects on how her relationship needs have shifted now that she's a single mom.  She also opens up about the role sex plays in her life and her thoughts on intimacy.

"At nearly 48 I have very different feelings about intimacy than I did growing up. I did not have role model parents and I engaged with people in grown up ways since a tender age!  I was looking for companionship! validation! excitement! pleasure! hedonism! fun! And adventures!!," she wrote in her blog post.

The post continues, "Now, because I can’t get in the time machine and change my history. So I now choose to look at it through a positive lens, which is that I lived! I lived a very rich full life. However, after two kids and a separation from their father that has made me cautious, I have had the pleasure of shifting my focus when it comes to love for myself and my two daughters. I know that does not include a man nor has it for a while. I’ve come to realize through working in therapy (with Barry), he said something and I had to write it down. He said, “Sex is not love! It is the expression of love.” I have searched my whole life to have words like that to help me understand the difference and now, thanks to him, I do."
