The news of Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock’s divorce has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry. Although the decision to split seemed initially to be very hasty, new information coming out by the day is dispelling the rumors that this massive decision wasn’t premeditated.
Now, a new source for ‘US Magazine’ claims that the pair were “clashing” for some time prior to quarantine over a myriad of elements, and the decision to split has been on the table for a while.
Upon returning to Los Angeles following a trip to the family ranch, Clarkson decided to file for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences in their union, as well as filing for joint custody of their two children, River Rose, and Remington Alexander.
Now, an insider claims to know the extent of the troubles the couple faced pre-isolation and while in isolation with each other, saying that the overt amount of time they were spending around one another contributed to their differences being exacerbated.
“They clashed on so many levels, and being in quarantine together heightened their problems to the point of no return, so she filed for divorce,” a source for the publication claimed.
They then went on to explain how despite their being a common misconception that the couple was “perfect” for one another, they had some deeply rooted issues that were never addressed until the culmination of their relationship came with the divorce announcement, which clearly brought up old issues between them.
“Everyone thought Kelly and Brandon had the perfect marriage, but they definitely didn’t,” the source added. “Brandon’s very laid-back, whereas Kelly’s pretty high-strung.”
This opposing energy led to the eventual falling out of the pair, whose strict quarantine proved the cracks in their supposed solid union, as well as the struggles of taking care of their two children for every waking minute, something else that contributed to Clarkson’s personal issues with quarantine as much of the nation stayed indoors for months.
“When she went to Hollywood, it changed things,” the source added of Clarkson’s noted trip to the west coast. Blackstock seemingly preferred the life and pace of Nashville and Clarkson’s departure to Los Angeles apparently furthered the rift they already were experiencing.
Despite that major disagreement, it appears that Clarkson will not be changing her mentality about living in Los Angeles any time soon, continuing her talk show and re-taking up her notable position on ‘The Voice’ for next season.
