Salma Hayek Lies In A Pile Of Carrots In Sheer Dress For 'Eat Your Vegetables' Day

Salma Hayek wants you to eat your vegetables. The 53-year-old actress who recently stunned her followers with a bare-faced selfie in a sea of green leaves kept the color up today – well, with some orange thrown in for good measure. Salma's Wednesday Instagram update came dedicated to #NationalEatYourVegetablesDay, with the "Frida" actress going full throttle. A grocery store video seeing the Mexican pushing a cart around and complaining about the price of zucchini was shared as her "Drunk Parents" movie was given a shout-out. Likewise, a stunning shot of the Latina lying in crates of carrots with nearby apples. The message was clear.

Scroll for the video clocking Salma over 270,000 views in seven hours – it was a clip from 2019 movie "Drunk Parents." The star was seen looking very Hollywood in a big black coat and statement shades, plus gloves as she perused the produce section of a grocery store – less glamorous, though, was Salma getting real as she moaned: "$4 dollars! $4 dollars for a zucchini. AND THESE PEOPLE WON'T EVEN GREASE THE WHEELS OF THEIR...SHOPPING CART," Salma said as she straight-up kicked the cart in anger. A conversation with another shopper was then struck up as Salma, in character, was caught out with box wines in her cart – she said she was "juicing."

Salma , whose Instagram is followed by 15 million, also took to her stories with a very vegetable-appropriate photo. The star was seen lying on her back in the grocery store's vegetable section – Hayek was resting on carrots with crates of tomatoes and apples either side of her, also clad in a black dress with sheer fabrics on the chest and sleeves. The star whose gray locks just got a brief Instagram showcase was brunette here. Fans also got Salma's lovely smile as she wrote: "#nationaleatyourvegetablesday." Fans have been commenting.

Fan comments largely opted down the reference route as they spotted Salma from one of her own movies. Replies did, however, come in over the produce. "Them avocados be expensive too ?," one user wrote. They got a reply – "I love Avocados and yes they are two dollars each ?," the fan responded. Elsewhere, Instagram seemed to have spotted Salma's stories, with one fan writing: "How much for a carrot?" Scroll for Salma's headline-making gray hair reveal – not that she looked any worse with it.

Salma is now approaching half a million likes for her Tuesday post bravely revealing that yes, she's a little gray. The actress posted side-by-side photos showing her silver roots and a dye job covering them up. "In anticipation for reshoots, I finally had to do my roots.
