“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Eva Marcille has decided to leave the reality show after 2 seasons as a main cast member.
The Jasmine Brand broke the story, Eva released a statement to the outlet, “I appreciate the bond of friendship that I have made with several of my castmates and the strong personal relationships I have with numerous executives and producers at the #Bravo and Truly Entertainment companies.”
She added, “I am thankful for the opportunity I was provided. However, after speaking with my family and representatives, I believe that what I hope to accomplish for the culture and community will be better served by focusing on other opportunities."
Eva ended, "I look forward to serving my community on the Rickey Smiley Morning show and finding ways to be a voice during this transformational time in our country for people of color.”
Eva joined the show in season 10 as a friend of the cast. She was promoted to main cast member for seasons 11 and 12.
Earlier this year, rumors started swirling about Cynthia Bailey being fired from the show. A report claimed Cynthia was offered a much smaller role for season 13. The report claimed she was debating on whether to accept the offer or not. However, sources close to production came out to deny the report saying no decision had been made about casting.
Eva had quite the explosive season dealing with her baby daddy Kevin McCall, buying a new home and enjoying life with her husband [Michael Sterling] and their kids.
The reality star didn’t lack drama with her having to deal with her ex Kevin being arrested during a custody hearing between the two. He got into an altercation with courthouse police officers and ended up being charged with a felony. Eva eventually shut down Kevin’s custody lawsuit completely.
Bravo has yet to comment on Eva’s announcement.
