Over the weekend, Coldplay singer Chris Martin, 43, treated his kids to a beach day with his long-time girlfriend, Dakota Johnson, 30.
Martin’s children, who he shares with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow, Apple (16), and Moses (14) could be seen outside, enjoying the warm weather.
Martin and Paltrow “consciously uncoupled” in 2014. But it wasn’t until 2017, Martin moved on with the “Fifty Shades of Grey” star.
The two were first spotted that year, eating sushi together in Los Angeles.
They were seen again in Israel, attending a Nick Cave concert.
“They came in and they were really, really nice, like extremely nice. It was a surprise. They sat with Nick Cave too. I didn’t see them kiss or hold hands or anything like that. They ordered some starters and not a lot of food,” a witness told Us Weekly at the time.
Towards the end of 2017, sources finally confirmed the two were a couple.
In 2018, Johnson and Martin were spotted with similar infinity tattoos, prompting rumors their relationship was getting more serious.
And while neither Johnson nor Martin make a habit of discussing their relationship, Johnson revealed she was “happy.”
“I’m not going to talk about it, but I am very happy,” she told E! News last year.
For thanksgiving, Johnson enjoyed dinner with Martin, his ex-wife, and Paltrow’s now-husband, Brad Falchuk.
In June 2019, after two years together, the pair reportedly split up. But by August, they had already rekindled.
There were rumors Paltrow was the one who convinced the couple to give their relationship another shot.
During a 2020 interview, Paltrow opened up on how she feels about her ex’s girlfriend.
“I love her,” Paltrow told Harper’s Bazaar about Johnson.
“I can see how it would seem weird because it’s sort of unconventional. But I think, in this case, just having passed through it iteratively, I just adore her. I always start to think of the ampersand sign—what else can you bring in, instead of being resistant to or being made insecure by? There’s so much juice in leaning into something like that.”
Paltrow even celebrated Johnson’s 30th birthday last year with a touching tribute.
She wrote,” Happy 30th birthday to this absolute gem ?,” on Instagram alongside a black and white photo of Johnson holding a cute dog.
And while the couple doesn’t share snaps of the other on social media, Martin and Johnson have been photographed a few times together in quarantine.
Johnson can be seen in the movie, “The High Note” which was released for streaming on May 29th. The movie stars Tracee Ellis Ross and Ice Cube.
