Elon Musk Calls Apple's Twitter Feud 'A Battle For The Future Of Civilization'

Billionaire Elon Musk seems to be in a new feud with Apple after he alleged that the company threatened to pull the Twitter app from its App Store.
Apple's App Store has faced frequent challenges in the past due to its high fees and restrictive policies, but it seems that the new "Chief Twit" plans on keeping the heat on the company.
Elon Musk Claims Apple Is Threatening To Pull Twitter From Its App Store
Apple has also threatened to withhold Twitter from its App Store, but won’t tell us why

On Monday, the Tesla CEO tweeted, "Apple has also threatened to withhold Twitter from its App Store, but won’t tell us why."
One user blamed Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who took aim at Apple after the January 6 Capitol Riot.
Good to see this development from @Apple. @GooglePlay what are you going to do about apps being used to organize violence on your platform? https://t.co/wWVSERcRSH
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) January 8, 2021
It shows that Apple has a history of monitoring what kind of "free speech" it will allow on its platform, and Musk's decision to reinstate the Twitter account of former U.S. President Donald Trump might have led to its decision to back away from the social media platform under Musk's rules.
Apple has mostly stopped advertising on Twitter. Do they hate free speech in America?

Earlier on Monday, Musk tweeted, "Apple has mostly stopped advertising on Twitter. Do they hate free speech in America?" He later asked, "What’s going on here @tim_cook?"
Musk Claims 'Tyranny' Lies Ahead If Free Speech Is Lost
This is a battle for the future of civilization. If free speech is lost even in America, tyranny is all that lies ahead.

Elsewhere on Twitter, author Colin Wright tweeted, "The massive immune response we are seeing from Left-wing media and Big Tech to @elonmusk's commitment to free speech on Twitter should frighten you. It has revealed their rabid obsession for complete narrative control. This is a battle they cannot be allowed to win."
Musk, who recently revealed that he voted Republican in the last election, replied, "This is a battle for the future of civilization. If free speech is lost even in America, tyranny is all that lies ahead."
I'm not talking about Apple not advertising on Twitter, I'm referring to their insinuation that they might remove Twitter from their app store.

Wright later clarified that he wasn't responding to Musk's tweet about Apple not advertising on Twitter, but their possible decision to remove Twitter from their App Store entirely.
The Twitter Files on free speech suppression soon to be published on Twitter itself. The public deserves to know what really happened …
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) November 28, 2022
Musk then seemed to double down on his commitment to free speech by threatening to reveal "Twitter Files on free speech suppression." He tweeted, "The Twitter Files on free speech suppression soon to be published on Twitter itself. The public deserves to know what really happened …"
They’re all going to be made up! There was no suppression on free speech before your take over, it was suppression on speech that was fake news and inciting violence like those tweets of Trump and Jordan Peterman… fabricating evidence will just erode trust even more for Twitter
— Nomad (@Nomad_1x) November 28, 2022
That being said, at least one user was skeptical about the information Musk might reveal. "They’re all going to be made up!" one user commented. "There was no suppression on free speech before your take over, it was suppression on speech that was fake news and inciting violence like those tweets of Trump and Jordan Peterman… fabricating evidence will just erode trust even more for Twitter."
Apple should publish all censorship actions it has taken that affect its customers
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) November 28, 2022
In the meantime, Musk is asking Apple to do the same. On Monday, Musk created a poll, asking followers to vote "yes" or "no" if "Apple should publish all censorship actions it has taken that affect its customers."
An hour before the poll was about to close, 84.% of 2,118,608 votes had said yes. However, it remains to be seen how Apple will respond.
