Kelly Clarkson Shocked Friends With Surprise Divorce From Brandon Blackstock

Kelly Clarkson’s decision to pull the plug on her marriage to Brandon Blackstock shocked those close to the superstar.

Sources close to the couple tell The Blast, the divorce came out of nowhere and shocked the people close to the 38-year-old talk show host. We’re told there was no sign of the two having problems.

For the past couple of months, Kelly has been shooting her show from her Montana ranch with Brandon and the kids. Sources close to the two were "taken aback" after hearing the news.

As The Blast first reported, Kelly filed for divorce from Brandon on June 4 in Los Angeles Superior Court. The two got hitched in 2013 and share two children together, 5-year-old daughter River Ross and 4-year-old son Remington Alexander.

In the divorce docs, Kelly put TBD for the date of separation and listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. She is asking the court to award her joint legal and physical custody. She doesn’t want Brandon to be awarded spousal support and is asking for their prenuptial agreement to be enforced. Kelly says she will not be asking for spousal support from Brandon. Kelly said the value of their separate property and assets is unknown at this time.

Sources say the split is amicable and they will not be fighting in court.

The divorce comes after the couple put the majority of their real estate portfolio on the market. Earlier this year, the two listed their $10 million Los Angeles mansion for sale. The 8-bedroom, 9-bathroom home, located in Encino, boasts extra high wood-beam ceilings and an open floor plan

Earlier this year, Kelly spoke out about her sex life with Brandon saying it was fire. During an “Ask Me Anything” segment on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” she they have sex every night before going to bed.
