Model Jen Selter is known for her sweaty workout videos and her fun nutritional recipes, but she also spends some time discussing the importance of mental health in your fitness journey!
In another recent Instagram post, the 29-year-old fitness influencer shared a video of her spending alone time on the boardwalk at sunset. She stretches, writes in her journal, and does a few exercises while showing off her incredible flexibility at sunset.
Jen Selter Shares Her Favorite Ways To 'Unwind' With Her Fans!
In her latest Instagram video, set to the tune of Future’s hit song, “Solo,” Jen shared a video of herself doing yoga and several glute exercises on the boardwalk. Although it was pretty chilly outside, Jen only wore a blue-gray sports bra and matching leggings along with her usual black-and-white sneakers. In the video, she stretches, writes in her journal, and uses a black resistance band around her legs while she does squats.
At one point in the video, she balances both feet on the railing and then stretches one leg back behind her head, showing off her impressive flexibility. It looks like Jen spent a good deal of time outside, sharing a time-lapse of the sun setting in the distance as she took some time to herself beside the water.
Jen Is A BIG Fan Of Incorporating Movement Into Her Daily Routine!
In the caption, Jen talked about the importance of setting some time to unwind and focus on yourself each day. “Looking for ways to unwind after a long day? I got you!! I know It can be hard to switch off/ slow down these days as I am guilty BUT here are a few things that help me after a long day ( outside of the apt version).”
The first suggestion that she had for her fans was to get outdoors. “Go on a walk and listen to some music. Being outside in nature is something even doctors recommend to help improve both physical and mental health,” she wrote. Her second suggestion was to get some movement in: “As I always say exercise in almost any form can act as a stress reliever. Being active can boost your feel-good endorphins and distract you!”
Jen Reminds Her Fans To 'Focus On The Positive' Every Day!
Her third suggestion was to write in a journal, revealing that she writes down three things that she is grateful for each and every day. “They could be small or big,” Jen wrote. “This helps focus on the positive.”
Her final suggestion was to spend some time alone. “For me, personally one of the most important ways to actually unwind is to have some time alone,” she wrote, jokingly adding that her dog, Gram, “doesn’t count.”
Jen Reminds Her Fans That It's OKAY To Take Some Time For Yourself!
She capped off her post by writing, “However, you choose to spend your time alone is up to you. Read a book. Have a bath. Listen to some music. Whatever. Just have some time to yourself!”
She also asked her 13.5 million Instagram followers “What’s your favorite way to unwind?” but fans were too busy dropping heart-eye and fire emojis on her latest post.
